Does anyone know if there is a summary of changes anywhere to save us reading the whole lot? Even if I did read the whole lot I couldn't be sure what was new and what was changed Come on Peter, stop sunning yourself and sort it out [ This message was edited by: Riggers on 2008-01-04 09:08 ]

lol, i thought exactly the same. I read through bits of it briefly and din't notice any major changes. I would have thought that the break rule may have changed but it seems that its still 4 balls to touch the rails.

GB9 will be complying with WPA rules. The links with GB9 to EPBF and WPA were via BPPPA (our national governing body) but since Ted retired and we know nothing about any successor or who the governing body will be going forward we will have to wait and see how this pans out. Needless to say we are in constant communication with the EPBF regarding these matters. [ This message was edited by: Riggers on 2008-01-04 15:28 ]

Might be worth just clarifying some rules (not posting a 700 page article just the main changes / rules), just to help out the newcomers like me.
I know the vast majority will know these and 9 ball is very simple, but as an example when I played in my first 9 ball event the guy potted the 9 with a foul - coming from an 8 ball background I assumed I'd won. I'd hate to be caught out on something like this at a crucial moment in the game.

I am sure that somewhere I read that in order for a legal break to be made 2 balls must pass the head string, however the WPA rules only state that 4 balls must hit a cushion (if no ball is potted). Are we following the WPA rules to the letter now? As seen at the Mosconi this can make a massive difference to matches.

WPA rules are the 4 balls must hit a cushion. Balls passing the head string are used on the Euro Tour and most recently the Mosconi, they are not WPA rules.

The extra stuff about having to have balls pass the headstring is a regulation not a rule. Certain changes can be implemented at the tournament organisers discretion (i.e. regulations) and the break rule is one of them. See the regulations page on our website.
