I was on azbilliards forum the other day and I was telling a story about something that happened to me at my local club over the festive season and some of the replies where extremely rude or flippant, is it like this because most of the posters are american or not?

I am glad to say that here on pro9 if someone has a story to tell people listen and don't judge or call people liars.

here's the story all of which is true I would not lie as I am a mediocre player at best:

I was in the club yesterday just brushing up on my 9 ball game when I noticed a group of 3 guys playing 8 ball but one of them seemed to be sitting out for long periods (I guess he wasn't shooting well) anyway, I racked up 9 ball proceeded to crush the rack and runout which got the guys attention.

Next I racked up 15 ball rotation again crushed the rack and ran 13 of the 15 balls now this REALLY has the guys attention so finally I rack 1 final game of 9 bal and snap the 9 in off the break, by this time all three of them are looking at me so I said "anyone fancy a quick game of 8 ball".

The fear on their faces was priceless you could actually see them swallowing hard and desperately wanting back peddle as one of them spoke up stuttering and stammering "eh, no you're alright".

Its the funniest thing i've seen in years.

lol! im sure loads of people have a storey!!?? could be a story thread for everyone?? i'm a less than average player but every now and then hit some form a run some racks (pretty rare tho!!). i was playing my friend in brum and was hooked on the 1, so jumped and made the ball - a couple of people were already watching, as we had our own set of bslls and playing 9 ball (only people in the club on both counts), so now they are paying more attention. couple of balls later had a full ball masse, as i said im not that great so positonally speaking shouldn't have had to make big shots but still :) a big reverse draw on the 8 to make an easy 9 they were impressed!! funny thing was my mate and me acted like it was just a normal event so we just racked up another game and when they went laughed it off a bit!!

I post on azbilliards.com and insidepoolmag.com on a semi-regular basis. there are a lot if idiots on both those boards that find fault with most any question put to them.

it seems funny that every time some person asks a legitimate question like, "I want the best cue under $150. can anyone suggest a good cue." almost immediately, the "cue snobs", as I like to call them, chime in that you need to save your $ and buy a good $1000 to $1500 cue. you won't be happy with a cheap cue, etc. ,,,,, off topic banter and an attempt to be witty or sarcastic (I was once like that when I began posting) turns a lot of posters, that would otherwise share good and valuable information to the forum, away from the forum.

on insidepoolmag.com , I marvel at the new people who sign up daily and never post or contribute even in the chat room. I guess the bullies scare them away with attempts to be knowledgeable.

lol i read that thread it was quite funny the flaming you got..someone said you were british aswell..it would of been fine but you did use things like i crushed the rack and it did seem a little like you were boasting a bit...but i know exactly what you mean tho you have to think before you post anything on that site..

Rackrunner21 you have to understand my position with this why should I have to lie when recounting the story just to suit the idiots on that board, why should I have to say that my break wasn't working when I was hammering the rack there are others on there who use terminology like that all the time yet I am the one who is getting it in the neck from the pool snobs.

I don't think Rackrunner21 will feel like he needs to understand your position with this

I think he was just trying to say how some of the words you used could have made it come across in a different way.
