there has been quite a lot of arguing about the type of joint pin on cues on www.azbilliards.com and www.insidepoolmag.com sites in the USA. I'm wondering if the European pool community has any preferences or ideas on the subject. the last link that I was at is http://www.insidepoolmag.com/forums/jimbo/3061-son-i-wrong-thread.html#post30945thanks and a very prosperous '08 to all of you ! ----------------- P. Hey Jackie, Happy New Year to your good self and to everyone here There are a good number of various joint pins with varying thread sizes, and I think that the best joint pin, is the one that suit the individual player The joint pin on my current player is a piloted 5/16-14 pin into an elephant ivory joint collar with an ebony core and It has a really hit and feel to it, and I have been more used to cues with that that particular joint pin and so, it just seems to work best for me, but the joint collar materialused and the quality of the joint facing on the cue makes a difference as well I'm not sure though if many players would consider the finer details of a cue stick such as joint pins, joint collar materials, etc, if a cue feels good and a player can shoot good and comfortably with the particular cue they have, then that's what matters Willie

Hustler If you don't like me replying to the topic, tough, the thread ask for a player's thoughts on the subject of joint pins and I'm giving mine, like it or lump it. Second, I don't drink as I have better things to do with my time and money, than to waste it by giving it to a brewery. Willie [ This message was edited by: BigDave on 2008-01-01 13:35 ]

Personally I AM hung-over but I WAS thinking about asking how tight everyone screws up their cue, I've seen some people virtually need a wrench to unscrew them, and I've only ever tightened mine finger tight really. Here's hoping I don't get flamed for posting about pool on NYD!
