We still have a lot to do to get ready for your first event but are now making fantastic progress. We made an announcement on Pro9 on Saturday about extending the tour to 128 players and the impact this would have on the published format and schedule. We have the final list of 128 players all confirmed and are now busy trying to pick the 32 Pros from 50 applicants for the pro division. I expect this will take us a week to 10 days because we (the tour committee) all need to meet to sort this out together. If you have any comments about the changes we've made to accommodate the extra players we'd be very glad to hear them. If you are a GB9 tour player (and if you applied and paid then you are!) but have not read the changes on the website then you should do, especially the bit on the next event page about booking hotels [ This message was edited by: Riggers on 2007-12-17 19:31 ]

I would like to make a suggestion, if I may as regaurds to the selecting of spots for the '09 season.
Why not have it, that those who don't make it on the tour for '08, get a spot on the tour in '09?, (Providing they pay their fees of course)... that way, for the players on the tour, they are essentially playing to try and stay on tour as well, helping to keep the tour that little bit more competitive.
Now, I'm asking this before I have read any info on the tour structure for '09, and so I appologise if I'm giving a suggestion that may be already in place.

Are the 18 guys who don't make it on the pro tour going to be given a spot on the challenge tour?

If they don't take the spot the only way to get in the Pro division after that will be to qualify at the end of the season, play a season on Challenge and get promoted to Pro.

It's a decision for the whole team not one person so we have a meeting scheduled for this saturday morning, which is the first time we are able to meet. Also, one lucky person on the reserve list will be getting a phone call this morning.... will it be you?
