I heard that Strickland's new cue has a OB-1 shaft.

I believe it's a Mike Gulyassy custom and an OB-1 shaft with a modified taper.

He seemed to be playing brilliantly with it (in places) at WPC. Let's see how he gets on this weekend at the Mosconi. It's not a cue stick that Earl needs to sort out, it's his own temprament, both on and off the table, he tends to get a bit fired up too easily. If Earl was able to a little bit more easy going, but with the same strong comptetitiveness he has, then he would be a more solid player and lnot as unpredictable, when it comes to whether he's gonna play good or not Willie

Earl was already playing with his new cue at the WPC.He had all sorts of funny gears on it like a strange wrap.He claimed that his arm wasn't so well then but I believe he'll have to change his temperament.

yes i completely agree, i mean, he can be a very, VERY good player if he wants to be, but it just didnt seem like his concentration was there at the WPC. Lets hope its the same at the Mosconi

Check out the pics of earl at the WPC from the WPC website, there's a few images showing his playing and break cue. Just click on "The unpredictable Earl Strickland" and you'll be able to see the cue sticks for yourselves. http://www.worldpoolchampionship.com/gallery.asp# Willie ----------------- If ya got 'em, smoke 'em [ This message was edited by: TheWizard on 2007-12-13 10:26 ]

U can read this on the Mosconi cup website. The commentator Jerry Forsyth thinks that Earl is thekey to USA's success. If he lets the crowd affect him and behaves emotionally,it could harm The Americans. So like what ADS said, lets hope he plays badly. Btw,is Earl the captain?

Yeah, he had that on the last Cue-Tec stick as well, but it's not something that I would like to have, but saying that, I do remember hearing a while back, that Earl plays tennis on a regular basis, and so I guess he just prefers the tennis racket type grip, rather than the standard wrap on a pool cue. Like I said in the OB-1 thread, everyone has their preferences Willie
