This new tour of ours in the UK is great news for us all My problem is this, i've been plodding on at 9 ball for a few years now and not had the results i could have hoped for its only this past few weeks i've realised i have to focus more than i have been doing! as some people will already know that i like to play with the side spin a little bit As i'm getting older i feel like i'm starting to get it out my system. And in practice my game is now improving. After what Dazzler has just done it has given me a kick up the rear and made me realise that the UK is a bit of a hot bed for pool and me personally dont want to fall off the game and get left behind. My feeling is that if i dont make the new tour i would be missing out on the best for UK pool for sure!!! As many players out feel the same. But my situation at the present is not good, i want to be in the new tour but my pocket and circustances say that i cant :-| but what do i do? i've registerd online and now i'm trying to find a backer to help my situation. So what i'm asking is there anyone out there who would be prepared to help me and my situation to allow me to get stuck into this new tour? i think when i put this on here there are lots and lots of players in the same boat as me. But as you know if you dont ask you dont get. Would just be nice to able to know that 2008 i could knuckle down with someone behind me money wise to help, i'm sure in knowing that my game would improve in the right direction. Thanks for reading this and if anyone feels they can help send me an email. steve9ball@yahoo.comCheers Steve Brown.

Your problems may be answered, I am looking into the possibility of running a qualifier for players who want to part of the tour but cannot afford it, justify it etc. Probably be around £50 to enter with the winner going onto the tour with all their tour fees paid for the season. More details coming soon, anyone who would be interested in playing this qualifier pm me so i can get an idea of runners.

Excellent idea but this would not cover me for the hotel costs etc through the season. Plus my current ranking on BPPPA is on about 1 set of pool race to 9 per week if i'm lucky.
I'm at this momement in time out of work, so its catch 22, i got all the time to practice! which is nice but when you think about it what is the point of living on the table without the garantees of being able to use it on tour. If i new that 2008 my full season would be covered i would be on the table and nobody could stop me. I have played 99% of my matches for the past few years on no practice, but pool in the UK has gone upwards, the standard from when i first started have increased by a massive amount and i feel that i cant compete with the attitude of just turning up with no practice. The difference should be that i would be taking my game to tournament not trying to find it while i'm in it! cos thats so hard to do.
As some players who know me will tell that i can play in many different ways, fast, slow, spin,no spin. Because i'm not practised so when i do get the chance to play i'm trying to do it all, but over all i dont give up in a match. Many players out there who practice and some that dont everyone has there own way, i've done it with no practice and would like to do it with practice. But when you are working you dont get the time to practice and when your out of work you cant afford to. So what the the devils playground do you do. Answers on a post card please! lol Sorry for the dribble.
Steve.

This is a great idea but the problem is the tour is already looking to be over-subscribed. By all means continue to test the water to see who is interested and get in touch. I'm just sorry we can't promise anything at the moment as we can't be sure there will be a spare place.
