pool played on 9foot tables has always been called american pool now that the philipines are by far the most dominant contry should the name not be changed? only 4-5 USA players left in world champs being matched by uk and germany more than double philipinos still in just a thought

i think its called american pool cause they hav been playing it for donky's years just because they aren't competing doesnt mean they haven't got a load of players.Pool is huge over there.

Pool was huge in america for decades and still is - that's when the INVASION of the PHILIPPINES was discovered when 3 filipinos went to the USA, they were Jose "AMANG" Parica, Efren "BATA" Reyes and Francisco "DJANGO" Bustamante. AMANG was the one who brought BATA and DJANGO there. Efren couldn't make money in the Philippines after a while cos people got scared of Efren and especially when all the american soldiers stopped playing him for money!!
