I am thinking of changing the tip on my break cue to a phenolic tip but what I want to know is what is better a phenolic tip/ferrule combination or just a tip as normal?.
Any help is appreciated.
P.S
Is it easier to jump with a phenolic tip and does it give you more power off the break?.

i have a phenolic tip/ferrule combo and to be honest, after the novelty had worn off i actually like the regular tips better. Funnely enough i feel like i get more power with a regular break cue
My Jump cue has a phrnolic tip and regular ferrule and jumps like a dream.
IMO i would stick to regular break tip

Increasingly the way this game is going with equipment set up is not power you need but control.

Yeh, when breaking like they did I really don't see the point in using a break cue but I guess it's cos they practice with it all the time so they get used to it even for the soft break. When they first introduced tapped tables on the BPPPA but without the 3 point rule I used my playing cue to soft break in a similar way. You just couldn't miss and most times the 1 ball went over the middle bag. [ This message was edited by: Riggers on 2007-11-08 13:31 ]
