Does anyone know anything about transporting pool tables about, do they dismantle into managable sized parts, I'm getting a new appartment soon and i want to have my own table in, but obviously only if i can get it into the building.
I'd appreciate any help/advice as i'm sure theres plenty of people on here with their own table.
cheers
Matt.

The slates are the heaviest, bulkiest and most likely piece to give you trouble, although most 9 foot table slates divide into three sections they are still INCREDIBLY heavy and would be pretty tough to take up stairs. The length of the side rails might also be of concern if your are dealing with a modest sized lift. When put together the total table weight can be a factor in older buildings... around 550 Kilos is average. But frankly, if you love pool, nothing will stop you!

yeah, thats what i'm thinking, its deffinatley gonna happen though...i dont mind walking every piece up the stairs either a modern appartment with a concrete floor would be able to take the weight wouldnt it? 550kg is about the weight of 7 average people I'm gonna have to tell the letting agents thats what i need anyway would the noise from playing on it cause any problems?

I wouldnt imagine so, unless balls are flying around all over the place smashing into things. Which i'm sure they wont be

actually it does make quite a bit of noise..but it shouldn't be so loud that the neighbours are coming round every day..put a sock in each pocket that will drown some of the noise.

All pool tables come basically as a flat pack piece of furniture - depending on the company you buy from it may be installed for you, some will expect you to do this.
The slate is in 3 sections (on a 9ft table) and the total table weighs approx 550kg
If you need anything more then please feel free to pm me
