Hi all.. I said before that I wasn't going to bother with the Euro Tours, but next year if it's still happening I might enter. Only, I'm skint now so would like a backer I get discouraged from this as I have enough to worry about, and if I played on this I'd like to be able to concentrate on the pool and not worry about the flights etc.. I'm not in this for money, just for the enjoyment, so it would be some kind of deal that ensures if I win anything, all the money goes back to the backer first, before any deal is done. I'd just like someone to take care of all the hassle etc so I can concentrate on Charity Exhibitions and expanding it so we can raise more for charity. Send me a text to 07968 008952 and I will text you my e-mail. No e-mail on here cos of spam/junk. PS - I almost feel embarrassed about this, but if it was about money I'd back myself - I've NEVER had a backer, but have enough on my mind without the extra pressure..

Good comment but the only problem is your in the same boat as a lot of other pool players!! I was talking to Craig Osbourne last night and he was saying how he needs a backer!! This game is small in this country,, thats the problem! Nice comment tho.. and hope it turns out for you!! ----------------- UK's Youngest [ This message was edited by: the_locomotive on 2007-10-15 15:19 ]

surly compnays like carlsberg would give u a bit (every little helps)
with ur background of charity work i would have thought compnays would have been keen to sponser u ??

I have no idea mate - come to think of it, I never thought about the charity work for 9 ball (as it's always been connected to the 8 ball section) but perhaps something can be done. I know some people, but due to work I was taking the easy wayadn posting it on here for all to see.. I might even do something like 'x'% of my profits would go to charity - the backers gets all his money back, and what profit is left is sorted between me and the charity? How many Euro Tours are there? With flights, accomodation (cheapest accommo would do me) and entry I suspect it's probably in the region of £2.5k? Perhaps a seasoned Euro Tour player can give a better idea? Good idea that - getting a big company to sponsor me - it could be good exposure for the charity.. Hmm... will be thinking about this, thanks

let me know how u get on with the sponsership
surly if they see that it was for a charity not just a money thing then the coverage for them would doubles as they cna say are helping a hcarity as well
more info from eurotour regulars would be good like how far u need to get in comp to get ur money back ect

7 Euro Tours Carl. Here's my conservative estimate per event: Return Flights: £100 Transfers/Parking: £50 Entry: £100 (140 Euro) Hotel: £150 Total: £400 So you're not far off at £2.5K excluding food and drink. Now you just need someone to tell you what the prize money is so you can work out how you need to perform on average to get that back. Although I've been to 3 Euro Tours now I don't know much about prize money

last 32 = 756 Euros last 16 = 1000 Euros last 8 = 1480 Euros Semis = 2000 Euros Runner up = 3300 Euros Winner = 5000 Euros
Hope this helps
liking the way your thinking Houdini - im exactly the same way! - not in it fo the money, purely a hobbie that i would love to have funded.
Charity Route is an excellent incentive for a sponsor - 2 birds with one stone...
definately something to look at..... think i will be trying something similar

Thanks lads..
That's sound - I was going to go to Spain and had it all confirmed, but business commitments mean I might now not be able to make it.. I was going to bring my partner as well, so a pity..
I will put something together sometime and see what the response is..

well if your really playing in them for the enjoyment and not the money then give all the winnings to the backer.
you get to go to all event expenses paid, they have a chance of profiting some cash.
i dont know how good you are, but if you end up winning one and making the backer a load of cash, im sure they would give you a share.
but to me that seems the fairest way to do it, and also the most likely way to get a backer.

if it was going to be a non commercial backer then maybe the option of they take all winnings up to when they are payed back plus 50% then after that it goes to the player?
does pro9 do sponsership? £500 for name on a shirt? (is that alot i have no idea)
