Here is a link to some photo's of the recently renovated Downeys Bar ..incorporating "Sugar Niteclub" and the "Poolworks"....which has to be the best poolhall in Ireland. http://s219.photobucket.com/albums/cc57/poolsh4rk1/Past champions include Jon Wims,Pat Holtz and Darryl Peach. Tommy Donlon and Chris Melling have held exhibitions here...and most recently "Jimmy White" ,who officially opened the place. We are holding a £1000 8 ball tournament here next month, more details to follow [ This message was edited by: poolshark on 2007-10-13 00:58 ]

Wow! That club looks the dogs! I'm very interested in attending that event but have no more hols from work so hopefully will be able to get weekend flights. Where abouts in Ireland is the club? As soon as you know anymore about the comp please let us know, even if it's only a date.

With a little more notice and details about the event I might have gone to that. How far is the place from Derry airport? What's the address of the venue? What's the entry fee? Are there any good hotels nearby? [ This message was edited by: Riggers on 2007-10-25 08:44 ]

Well with the help of google I managed to answer some of those questions...
It's 9.5 miles from Derry airport. Pool Works is at 31-33 Shipquay Street, Derry in the centre ofthe city. Flights with Ryan Air from Nottingham come in at £96 return. I'm working on hotels. Anyone else fancying it?
