Not exactly teams..2 People..
Wouldn't it be a lot more exciting have 1 framers...
5 Players..everyone vs everyone = 25 frames..

After talking to Luke Riches at Mathroom last year it seems that the players want the longer races.
I would have thought a Davis Cup approach woud have been better. 2 singles, 1 Doubles, 2 singles if required.

I suppose longer races would be prefered because in a race to 1, its anybody's game where as in a race to 8, you need to be consistently better to win (most of the time). Like if you get a golden break in the race to 1 thats it.
Might make it more exciting though.

Best of 5 sets gives the players a real chance, but fitting it into an exciting 1 hour TV programme isn't easy - 9 ball has always been fast, exciting, and above all, a bit cruel!

they should do what the old world team championships did!! scotch team events! i remember watching philiipines v usa it was like 7man team but 4 or 5 man team would be enough! [ This message was edited by: dynamitedaz on 2007-09-26 12:56 ]

that is true, and it is a bit more exciting when you know that anyone could come through and win, a bit like the Nuts pub pool challange, i rack of pool on an english table. If the first player clears without the other having a shot the second player gets the next break and has to clear to stay in. Fats and furious, and you know that 1 mistake could be costly

Might make it more exciting though. You are correct but as a TEAM, the consistancy will have to come from all the members who get chances to win. Also, it would be very unlucky if you got dished in all 5 frames. [ This message was edited by: matt123 on 2007-09-26 19:07 ]

this is true, a race to 5 is ok it was only if it was a race to 1 or 2 that there is a high chance of losing the lag loses you the game. I do think Daz's idea of a davis cup style event, i think that would work

well done boys! 6-3 down and then won 8-6. great result in what sounded like a typically tight and nervy first match. bring on the finland crew on friday night..... Oz - supporting the boys all the way!!! [ This message was edited by: SHOTGUN on 2007-09-27 19:18 ]
