Has anybody had the pockets shimmed on a SAM? Just wondering how easy it is to tighten the pockets up and how they play afterwards. Some tables are due to be reclothed in my local Riley's and I was wondering if it was a simple job for the table fitter to Shim one of them?
Sorry totally naive about these things.
Thanks in advance.

Apparently they've just shimmed the 5inch SAM pockets down to 4.5inch at "Jella's" Midlands Snooker Club where the DvD match is being played. He's a lovely bloke... Maybe you could call him, or I could ask him when I'm there and report back. It's just a case of getting thicker than normal rubber shims (the easy part) and cutting them to shape (the difficult part, and I imagine that some skill is required here). Yes you can shim the pockets on a sam it works very well had one done at rileys victoria. You have to tell the table fitting company that you want it done so they bring the shimms with them. Its like a rubber its the same material they use for Bruswick and snooker tables. They may charge you extra for the privilege.
