Has Anyone tried an OB-1 shaft? Alot of people on AZ rate them highly and it's tempting me to buy one to try it but i would like to see if anyone else has tried them first? if you have what did you think? are they as good/better than a Pred? what are the difference's?

i have one....its an excellent shaft.didn't like the std talisman so i fitted a kamui med which is miles better. its a very soft hit....deflects about the same as a z2 in my opinion. prefer it to the xshaft and 314. looks like john schmidt has just started using one and he's been raving about it on az. if you're at solihull look out for me and you can have a hit with it [ This message was edited by: mackie on 2007-09-22 17:47 ]

Mackie, whats the deal with the "barber pole" ferulle? Is it wooden? And is it easy to install a new tip?

yes its wooden.i like it though ....some ob1 users prefer a white ferrule to aide in their aiming but i'm ok with it.it has a carbon fibre style plate attatched to the top which the tip joins onto. if you look at a photo of an ob1 you'll see the black ring just below tip.

I've had mine now for about 18 months and I love it. It is a soft hit much like the Meucci Black dot.
I love the wooden ferrule construction, it's something different! I too hate the tip that is fitted so replaced it with a Sniper

extremely good shaft. low squirt, great spin, feels really sweet. and trust me you don't notice the ferrule after a couple of shots!

Ive had mine a month, but I switched back to the Z². It is a good shaft, I just think the deflection is more noticable with the OB1 than with the Z². And size count as well, diameter that is Anyway, I do know a lot of people saying this is the best shaft they have ever tried.... ----------------- Ine www.inehelvik.com [ This message was edited by: ine on 2007-09-23 19:45 ]
