AZBilliards are reporting that this year's World Championships will be held in Manila.
Another long trip for the west after the last couple of years in Taiwan

I'm really pleased about this... I think the Filipinos will love it and bring a new dimension to the event.

I think the World Championships should be held in Europe as Asia have had it for the last two years. I wonder if the World Championships will take on the same meaning once the IPT gets up and running. Maybe they have realised this and have increased the prize money to be like the IPT.

It has to be said that the Filipines deserve to have the WC there...the supporters are something else....thanks to Efren i guess??

As far as prize money is concerned.....there is a new Daddy on the block now (IPT), and all the other big guns will be trying to compete to the best of thier ability.....will be interesting to see what happens hey?

Hey Dazzler, How are ya buddy?:)

I personally think that the WC should've been held in the Phillipines over the last 2 years instead of Taiwan because it's been pretty obvious that the Phillipino players have given alot to pool, esp Efren, Fancisco and Alex to name a few :)

I must admit thought that I would love to see the WC back in Cardiff again, but I think that the WC in cardiff could've had more tables than it did in the CIA, but saying that, it was the Cardiff set up that set the stage for later tournaments :)

I agree about the Prize money end of the WC also, it's about friggin time that the governing bodys started putting some decent prize money instead of the joke prize money that has been paid out over the years, I mean, if you look at the prize money that the likes of Mosconi and Lassiter and those guys got in their day, for the ability they had, I think that they deserved alot more than they got for their talents and god knows how many other players have been out in the could in the payout department as far as just reward are concerned :)

I personally would rather see the IPT having not only a Wc 8 ball, but also WC 9 ball and Straight Pool, I saw the pay out for the WC 14-1 event that Charlie Williams is holding, and the payout is a joke and as much as I have always wanted to play 14-1 tournaments, but I'm not gonna pay the level of expense to play in a tournament of that status with such a lame payout :)

I'm glad that Kevin is a pool guy and that he's doing something that is about 30 years or more overdue for pool, but I guess it's better late than never :)

Anyways, take care everyone and I'll see you all soon :)

WC will conflict with the IPT does anybody know how this will work out. Players will have to make a choice between IPT and WC???

WPC dates are being moved to stop the clash, allowing players to play in whatever tournaments they want.

Can Anyone confirm dates it is better the earlier you book flights (ie much cheaper) a reason players drop out is because of this reason flights are double near the time, unless you go Aeroflot
