This is a great idea - because whoever wins, everyone can take some credit if they actually qualify. It's money going to the best person for the job and we can all follow them if they make progress at the worlds.

So it means not only are you playing in a comp with a great prize - but even if you lose, you are 'sponsering' the winner. BRILLIANT!! :-)

well....if you are one of those who even if you qualified you couldnt go to manila, you could use monies won to back a player to manila....everyones a winner.

Nice idea Mick. So what would the deal be? Say I win £1000 worth of funding but can't go obviously i'd expect £1000 in return. So would the deal be soemthing like... First £1000 won goes to backer then 50/50? Might not seem like a good deal for person being backed but it's a great deal really 'cos they get a free trip to Manila, chance to play in Worlds and chance to earn some dough.

As a libertarian I am not really keen on this sosialistic idea, but it might be something for ya:

Everyone who competes in the qualifier IS backing the winner!

If for example 16 players join the qualifier, and Darren Appleton wins it, Darren will keep 50 % of his winnings from Manila.

The remaining 50 % will be split on the 15 players who tried to qualify.

With this system, everyone in the qualifier is winners if Darren takes the big one! And this could maybe attract more b and c players to join too, cause they will get some part of the action in Manila ;)

If he should win it all, 100 000 $, then the 15 others would get 3333 $ each and Darren would get 50 000 (before taxes and expences though)

RugRat - see what your sayin Pal but If Daz wins 100 Large, he aint likely to wanna give 50 of if out to charity! lol..
if you Qualify from an event like this then you are rightly entitled to the spoils that come with it...

in my opinion of course...

reckon you would need £1300 Prize money for winner to cover Expenses.
Saying that - if you win £1000, its a cheap holiday for the extra £300!!!

Shotgun....... loves to talk tosh! :)

I understand what you mean, but then it is quite simple for Daz. Don't enter the qualifier and go get the money for travel ++ yourself!

It's the rule of the qualifier, and if he doesn't give 50 back, well, then he has got a lot of angry poolplayers running after him the rest of his life, wanting their share ;)

The good thing about this way is: If Daz shouldn't win, but finish 2nd in the qualifier, he can still get a piece of the action.

- I like the idea. Good thinking RugRat!
- Thanks!

Rugrat........ talking to himself
