BK2? Sledgehammer? X-Breaker J&J? Custom ....? Nearest house cue to your beer at the time Discuss... (now I don't want any discussions about any fancy inlay and veneering here - just all about how it hits, how many balls go in the holes, and where the cue ball finishes) [ This message was edited by: SlowAdey on 2007-06-21 17:22 ]

I use a sledge and its pretty solid, u dont have 2 break particularly hard to get a solid strike. I even made the wing ball once!

I was wondering about the X-breaker. I've got a BK2 which is hit and miss (pardon the pun) But you can get 3 or a dry break. You have to hit it in a precise and certain way. But I can never remember what it is!! So it only works 50% of the time but then so do house cues [ This message was edited by: expertfluke on 2007-06-21 21:22 ]

I have J&J break/jump with phenolic tip, love it. Bought a bk1 brand new recently and couldnt get on with it compared to the J&J.
Its easy to miscue with if not cueing well at the time, but it does seem to increase the power of the break without reducing accuracy too much.
Makes a nice jump shot too!

Custom is the way forward!!
I use a wayne and its great!! I have two shafts phenolic and leather tips
i use the leather but the phenolic is also good..
if I was going to get a production break cue I would go for a BK2 they are the best out there after custom..

Have a Predator bk1 and a J&J jump break cue with phenolic tip, both have there pro`s and con`s,but I know a few guys that break so hard and control the cue ball with just a house stick,a good cue can only do so much, its down to the person using it to create the break.

X-Breaker for me, i've had/tried all the best breakers and i have to say the x-breaker is the best imo, i had a sledgehammer for a year liked it but after hitting with x it just seems not to give the same sweet hit, also hit with a BK-1 and 2 but didn't like it at all..x is a bit pricy tho
