Does anyone know where to purchase tip pads or 'wafers' as I think they are known in the snooker world? These are the thin black pads you can stick on between the ferrule and tip for a softer hit.
I've been googling for ages now and can't find anything.
Also does anyone know where I can get a good price on a box of 13 or 14 mm Elks that I can be sure are genuine?

Lee, I've got some Elks 13mm if you want some.
As for wafers, I've not seen those used for a lot of years.

I'm sure some of our contacts or suppliers will be able to supply those... I thought the black pads were primarily used to protect fragile ivory tips, do they make for a softer hit too? We'll get some in stock soon. ----------------- Authorised Pro9 forum advertiser/sponsor

Lee the black and red fibre pads as sometimes reffered to are definateley still available........i would recommend the triangle tips over the elks though.........i recently fitted one for Winston and it played great as Simon agreed. ----------------- [ This message was edited by: PC on 2007-06-18 11:45 ]

They use Elks cause they're cheaper and used to them now.

Oh, shame. With 14 mm you don't need such a steady hand and don't get glue all over your fingers trying to get them central

Well I should really have dipped it in milk before crushing it. Not sure if it's a good idea to do it now but, hey, what the heck...

My photos make the pads look like manhole covers... They're only 1mm thick!
