Skyblue,
Can you bring it over to Solihull on Wednesday and we can tap some of the tables that we use most often for the weekly tournament?
Thanks.

Deano,
You line it up in the right place on the table, using the diamonds and a couple of balls, put a ball in each of the holes in the mat (one at a time), then simple tap the ball against the cloth on the table to leave an indentation. Then you can rack the balls easily because they will simply fall into place in the cloth.
I will definitely bring it to solihull andy, it wont be here in time for tomorrow unless there is some sort of postage miracle, hopefully it will be here for next week, maybe big dave can advise??!!

I thought so, just thought it might be a little more complex than that... Easy is always best... lol

There is 1 major problem with racking mats, and that is knowing to tap the balls into plce, and not to try to bury them into the slate.
When you're using a tapping mat, yes they can be good for getting as close to as perfect as you can possibly get, but at a price.. I'll explain.
If you tap a table too heavily, then you'll have either the problems of... 1. The snowball will have a bigger tendancy to jump, when playing a fast break, especially in 9ball, simply because the head ball, is sitting slightly lower in surface hights, than the cueball is, and so, the cb and ob, aren't contacting on the centre lines (Equators) AND/OR 2. The indentations, can and gradually will, play havoc, when playing for postional shots, when the snowball rolls through or into the rack area, because the indendations, can make the cueball veer off line a little, which is something that no players wants to have to put up with, if it can be avoided.
Insonsistant placing of the rack can be another serious headache, when trainging the rack area, so try to take this into consideration also.
These are just a few things to think about before buy/using tapping mats, etc, but by all means, give it a try and see how it goes, as it will help give a tighter rack and a faster racking system, but use with a little caution and patience.

I know of a racking system that is even faster and more accurate than the table tapper.
Over to you Wizard...

I've been using a tapper (acquired through Dynamic at a ridiculous shipping cost) for about 8 months and if you get it right when you tap it will give you consistent breaks (in my case consistently bad!)
The fact Pro 9 have been clever enough to get some in is wonderful and is cheaper than going through Dynamic.
The only thing that bugged me about it is that when it arrived I had to push out the rubber pads which were still in the holes - why? It's meant to have holes so send it with just holes!!!

I personally removed all the "hole" inserts myself. Tapping mats from the Pro Shop are guaranteed to have all 15 holes.

Will we be using the holes as pog slammers or poker chips or something?
