I'd love to know the views of the Americans on the WPM now they don't have a player in it!

The side event at Club 8 is underway... Quite incredible to see a twelve year old looking kid playing Oliver Ortmann, and so many superstars of pool all playing in an ordinary club. I say ordinary, but it isn't that plain, although it's in serious need of some air-conditioning, Club 8 is a real players club... Nice tables (with super-fast looking cloth) and everything else a player could want including a great selection of pool cues and gadgets for sale. There's a really varied bunch of players here, Imran, Rico and Tony of course... Des Morely, and even one of the Matchroom staff are playing in this comp, and I believe he took a rack off Chia Ching Wu... I kid you not!!! Pat Holtz is out already, suffering from the heat a bit I think. More gossip and backstage exclusives later. ------------------ WOW!!! So much going on! Des Morley is here playing in the Challenge the Champions event... He's even won 100 Euros, although he's out now. The good news is that Imran Majid managed to pull back from a 6-3 deficit (in a race to 7) against Niels Feijen, to win the final tactical rack which too over 15 minutes to complete. Niels was forced to play a deliberate foul quite early in the game, and he pushed the three-ball into an unpottable position. Imran took ball-in-hand and managed to get Niels on two fouls and gave Niels a real stinker of a snooker for the third foul... Pretty devastating when that happens, but Niels escaped the third... Even managed to force Imran into a couple of fouls... Gripping stuff. The pockets are normal size but a little "rattley" down the rail, if you know what I mean. Here's the single elimination stages results: [ This message was edited by: BigDave on 2007-06-07 21:39 ]

Li Hi Wen what a player,
Jerry Forsythe said a great comment about him not word for word in this quotation.
"This guy can walk in to any club and get action all day"
He is a dark horse of a player, dont be surprised if he gets in to the final, jet lag might be an issue however.
Any way enough about Pool
Lets get on to the real subject.......Hello Jasmin

Sad to report she was one of the few celeb players that couldn't make it to the Challenge the Champions event... So we'll have to wait until tomorrow!

Well i don't think there will be a lot of crowd. The Dutch crowd has been already to Egmond aan Zee many times, and it is not a pleasant venue to be at. The hotel is like a jail, where you have to stand in line for your morning coffee. I heard not many tickets were sold. It is a shame, because there are so many good venues to hold a WPM in Holland and those would attrack lot's of crowd, but they still choose for Egmond aan Zee. I believe it is easy for Matchroom, because they have been there many times. Well i hope it will be a succes, and for those who are going, have fun. Think Engert will win this one...
