when i was setting up the EPT the one thing i wasnt real sure about was the entry fee....i wanted to make it more than it actually is at the mo and make the prize monies even bigger....I wanted to get the big guns involved, but at the same time give the lower players a chance too and i think this was acheived.
At the end of the day, like Mr MACHINE says, each 9ball event we pay an average of about £150/£180 per event so putting the entry fee up a little to increase prize pot wouldnt hurt at all......whats another £50 when your already paying £150/£180 out?

the answer to all this is so simple:

all that needs to be done is hold less events per year, that way entry fees could go up and more prize money each time

do you think mark segal would put as much money in if there were 12 eevnts a year in the ept, would the euro tour attract as many runners with 12 comps a year i dont think so

we should hold less events and make each one worth its while

think of the prize money now and double it. with a little work we then have a good pay structure and traveling to these events becomes worth while

also with 6 events it allows other smaller tours in uk to blossom and get bigger and in 5 years time the pool scene could be buzzing

My, oh my. Be careful that could be construed as a constructive suggestion and an honest appraisal of the current situation (across tours), and you know those aren't allowed here are they!!

Well said Mr Jones.
