It IS about sportsmanship and the desire by 2 of the UKs top players desire to have a match that isn't blighted by the misguided principles of some NOT all Riley's management to not allow the tables to be tapped. It just underlines that whoever objected to the tables being tapped knows more about running drink promotions than running a pool club and the maintenance of tables etc. I wouldn't object if they did look after their tables and give a darn (Jo and Chris - Riley's Victoria, a few other Rileys managers excepted) but their equipment is poorly maintained, clubs shockingly laid out (walls, pillars, etc in the way). A proper match is what they both deserved and direct 9s off the break equates to merely a farce. I couldn't have done Chris Billings job of racking as I would have borrowed a tapping template and tapped the table ragardless out of sheer frustration. The racking times ruined the rhythm of a superb encounter between 2 great players. [ This message was edited by: DaveMc on 2006-06-29 15:03 ]

9-balls off the break dont hinder a match in anyway it just adds to the exitement levels which is what the game is all about, like i say if rileys arent good enough then take the tour elsewhere to which playing conditions are spot on.
its the players that can decide this without you there would be no tour, either stop moaning after every tournament or put your feet down and say something but just because playing conditions are not perfect does'nt meen players can start changing the rules
