we will be doing groups, what we race upto will depend on the numbers in the groups and overall number of entries but i would expect it to be 5, there will be two advance from each group and then straight k/o. When we reach the k/o stages it will be a race to at least 7 again depending on the time and how things are going.

Feel free to bring either Oz, the club only has the standard pool balls so that is all we are planning to use but if both players in any match agree to use an alternative set that's fine. If you can get hold of a tapper that's great also.

so some of these matches might be played with trash ball light cueball? I'm afraid that's normal for locally run comps Daz, even those at Mickey Flyns. Rileys don't have 18 boxes of TV Pro cup knocking around in their cupboards! The answer is for as many players as possible to bring their own sets. It would be good if every player entering could be asked whether or not they'll be bringing balls so the organisor has an idea of how many there will be. Then can maybe try borrowing some. ...and this just shows you that, with all these tournaments being held by local volunteers where it's unrealistic to expect them to have pro ball sets, it's all the more important for all serious players to go out and buy a set. Can't go wrong at £95 from the pro shop. And I find that it's best to change them once a year for a new set 'cos if you keep them clean you can easily sell the old ones for £50 - so that's just £45 a year for your own shiny set of balls (to coin a phrase). Although the turnout wasn't quite what we hoped (17 runners) it still proved a good day, Craig osbourne won the final against Ben Moore. I will apologize if i am wrong but i think the final score was 9-3,
Well played and thanks for coming everyone i hope to run another in the near future.
