Very enjoyable weekend, the event was superbly and professionally ran by Ted & Nigel; good to see the unique rivalry between the Scottish and English (and Irish!)players cheering their compatriots on and contributing to a great atmosphere at matches, all of which were played very sportingly.

Simon- told you you should have came with Bruno and me, we'd have kept you out of rough-house bars, especially The Albion!

Thanks to Andy Mistry and his mates for a right good laugh at the guesthouse. Hope to see you guys at an event down south next season.

And Paddy- you have to be admired for making that pansy soft break work for you, and sticking with it. Saw you dish umpteen times with it. Well done on winning, and good luck in the next BPPPA event. See you at the Scottish Championship. ;)

Nice one Paddy!! i too was in Weert like Mark and a lot of the other guys, but a wins a win and you still have to finish the job!!
Hey Si, 9pack? i struggle to run 9 balls these days.....forgot how to play 9ball as ive been practicing just 8ball :-P ...still, nice to see you think so highly of me ;-)
Sounds like it was a good event.....it usually is when its up there in the northern region!! ;-)

Could be a chance at the next bpppa event for another "first" winner as many of the top players including myself will be in Switzerland for the Swiss Eurotour!
Its a shame really coz Manchester is on my doorstep!!
But then again, after the Manchester event i will have only played in 1 of the last 5 events because of date clashing!.....not great for my number1 ranking hey? :-P

Anyway, once again well done Paddy!

sounds like a good event! I was playing in a local 8 ball event, lost 8-6 in the semis, the current scottish no1 beat the guy that beat me by 9-8 in the final!

glad you all enjoyed Stirling, my favourite pool hall in Scotland by far!

i have to say that the introduction of tapped tables and alternate break did make the matches very close. however, some of the tables weren't in the best condition.

Not naming any tables (table 4). But hey, thats nine ball!!!!

Just wanted to add a small note to thank Ted and co. who managed to take on board several changes in short time to improve the event as promised in the recent announcement. The icing on the cake would be to see the latest rankings :-) :-) Well done Paddy and great to meet some some of our friends from this site.

Just was down watching the pool and it was great(wish i could play as good as these guys)!!! Have to say that it was great to watch.... Paddy deserved to win. He looked in such good form from his first shot to his last as well as running 7 racks in practice before he played his first MATCH! This lad will go far..........

Hi people.
Late post as I just got back!
(been touring the distilleries again)

Well done Paddy!

I predicted you would win after practising with you before the event.

Up there with the best mate!

Nice to see the tapped tables but we will surely get more close games now!(not a bad thing)

A big thanks to all the locals for helping make it a great event.
I enjoyed meeting you all.

See you all next time!

Jon.

I completely agree with u Jon,its a lot better to now have tapped in tables and alternate breaks.Firstly this gives EVERY player better value for there money as its now impossible to lose a match on the lag and have a oppenent run 9 racks against you,and secondly you wont have players taking 10 mins to set the balls up,and finally there will be a lot more closer matches which can only be good for the game and the tour.
Looking forward to playing this format in Manchester, see you all there soon,
                            Mark.

Sorry I was unable to make it along to the Stirling tournament.

Work commitments meant that I couldnt play on Saturday. I hoped to get along for a while on Sunday, to watch, to chat, to re-invent the world... Ok, then, just the pool-world.... But, family stuff prevented me from doing that. Maybe just as well...

So... apologies to Simon & Ted. And Joe & Sam. And all the other guys I hoped to meet at this tourney.

We'll meet again. Maybe at the Scottish 9-Ball Champs.

Who knows...

Anyway Simon... I'm sure you've got my number. If you want to talk guitars, I'm your man. PM me.

x

BS

Right time for my Pro9 Post Promo regards to the ranks
--------------------------------------------------------------

I have fallen out of the top 16 down to 17th but that’s only temporary for now.

Manchester is around the corner and I have been shaping up for it and started to practise more again, sorting my game out and feel my winning ways are on the way back. With some of the top 16 who won’t be there due to Euro Tour I shall be seeded but I don’t feel sorry for one soul who's going straight out of that top 16 because I am going to take back what’s rightfully mine.

With 2 events left starting with Manchester.... mark my words brothers "I WILL BE BACK IN THAT TOP 16 AT THE END OF THE SEASON"

Joe, if the top16 means so much to you, you should have gone to Stirling......with double points you could have got in the top8 as only 4 players in total from top16 turned up,9 total players from top32 turned up.....and 19 total from top64!!!

And Stirling was my worst finish in any BPPPA event so far :( If only they didn't serve miller draft.
