I feel Shaun Tiddeman (4) from Riley's Colchester league should really be on there... (i'm undefeated against one player on the list in league play)

(how will i be informed if i will be let in?)

If you did not come into the top 4 then Im sorry. If one of the other 4 players are not going take part in the competition then you are more than welcome to take there place as you only miss out by 1 point.

Black ref...........sorry to disappoint you.

I did come in the top 4 of the first of our two leagues, or does it have to be the last league played?
(I was injured at the start of the second leage and lost games as a result but I was happy to only have missed the top 4 by a single point)

I also know for a fact that Rob Law will NOT be taking part and Andrew Ross has said that he won't be able to make it either (their both names from my league)

So, will i be able to play? (as you can tell, I'm egar to play, lol)

Blackref - You did'nt answer the question about regional/national winners and how it will work on the day, I assume that the regional winners will play off in some way to play the national winners at a later stage?

League winners will be seed so they will get a bye into the second round or evan third depending on how i can work the draw out. don't forget this is a one dayer.

any chance of letting people know what the format is likely to be? prize money breakdown etc, as i understand it there is quite a fund so far with all the admin fees recouped from Rileys etc.... looking forward to a great comp as there are nearly 100 runners is that right??
Have you thought about maybe asking for another £5 a head so you could pay out further down te field on the day?? just a thought...

Ossie - Ipswich

Excited for more......

For everybodys attention

The format is double elimination, race to 9, Prize fund is £1500 the break down of that is

Winner     £600
Runner Up £300
3 & 4         £150
5 - 8         £75

The Draw will be posted a week before so you can see who you are playing so that we can get the comp going as early as possible. There will be no flyers on the day or the night before, for reason Im not going into on the forums.

The Answer to your Question tonyb is no because it will get silly. Phil Bursford is in because he is defending his title and your reason is?

Hey Chris,

Sorry for lack of response about Reading mate... I've been on holiday for 3 weeks then very busy at work since I came back... should be able to let you know tomorrow.

Cheers,
Mike

Blackref- I don't envy you mate, you've had nothing but hassle on this thread from various sources, including:

people who want a slice of the cake despite not entering one of the original leagues

people saying they've won or qualified via this or that route and their name isn't there

.....amongst others. I hope there is not further chaos on the day caused by listed players not appearing. It's a brave call to draw the event before the actual date, so I hope there are no major holes in the draw created by "no-shows".

Good luck with the organisation of the event, and good luck to all competitors. For what it's worth, I disagree with the inclusion of any player who does not fulfil the original qualification criteria. There may just about be a case for the defending champ to play (grudgingly). But he should be made to play off 8....as defending champ, he should be able to handle that.

The thing is the handicap system that was formed before the league was brought to abrupt end there was not an 8 handicap so me putting some one on a handicap that is not there would not be fair, Im trying to keep to the original rules or as close as i can. As far as the draw goes may it would be better that I did it on the day so every player has to turn up early, times i will let you know.
