Sounds good.
I've just realised I can't get to the bloody Nottingham tourney on the 25th!!!! Yes, that's the idea though the figure might not be 64. At the end of the season the top n players will be asked to pay their deposit for the next season then when the closing date for deposits arrives we'll know exactly how many spots are available for the qualification events. The low ranked players + those who don't pay their deposits will drop off and will be able to rejoin only via a qualification event. [ This message was edited by: Riggers on 2007-08-08 13:52 ]

Just a quick question.
Would the BPPPA still be running when the GB9ball tour is up and running.

Effectively, junior, women and wheelchair players have got a choice of two. Since the BPPPA came into force I believe that they have NEVER held a womens only American pool event ..... I could be wrong, please feel free to correct me if I am!!! [ This message was edited by: Beertrixpotta on 2007-08-08 14:13 ]

You are right women dont have a choice of two tours to enter. One question though, why do women get entry into tournaments cheaper? What is the official reason?

Would the BPPPA still be running when the GB9ball tour is up and running. The BPPPA has only delegated responsibility for the running of the main 9 ball tour to GB9BT and is fully backing GB9BT in it's activities. Through our discussions with the BPPPA we know that all the other work it does will continue as before. BPPPA is our national governing body and respresentative with european and world governing bodies and therefore continues to have a very important role to play in our game. This new project has been set up very much as a partnership and it's important for all of us that the relationship between GB9BT and BPPPA works well.

Fair point DomOnThe9 but I thought the junior tour was pretty successful and well managed?
If a player on one of these tours was consistently proving they were much better than everyone else then they should be allowed onto the main one, maybe by a wildcard place as they've proved they deserve it. Until then, the GB9BT should be reserved for men or have places restricted like Riggers suggests.
I only started playing the game in January so want to improve my consistency by regularly practicing and playing the top players. You have to realise that if the GB9BT had spaces taken up with junior, wheelchair and women players (who all have their own professionally run tour) then there would be a lot of guys like me who won't have any tour at all. Unless we all move to Scotland.
The first season of the GB9BT will be a bit hit and miss as some players won't be good enough, and some top players might get their applications in too late. But then, the qualifiers (where everyone should be allowed to play) for the second season should sort this out

They are allowed and they don't need a wildcard - just the entry fee like everyone else. On 2007-08-10 13:18 , JonnyJP Wrote:!!! The top players I've spoken to say they will be joining.

Haha Boyzi, I completely agree and have never doubted this new format. I just have a few concerns thats all being new to all this, especially since I've just blown 165 quid.
Ok sorry, I thought there was a womens tour in the uk? Can't remember where I heard that. Fair enough then, forget what I said then.
The GB9BT is limited to 96 players as far as I know and there are over 200 players registered on the main tour at the moment. So as soon as the 96 places get filled up, there isn't any other tour players can join. Unless of course the BPPPA / GB9BT create another one.
My comments about the juniors taking up spaces are irrelevant now as you've already said that there will only be a limited number of juniors on the tour.

I'm not sure if it is still operational, but I believe at one point, the BPPPA may have had a ladies tour?, but as reguards it being either a Professional and/or ameteur tour, I'm not sure on that, but I do know that the BPPPA are now concentrating on the juniors/Ladies and Wheelchair events, with some occasional Mens open events of varying disciplines. I must admit that I reckon that a MAX of 6x Junior players would be about right, thus leaving the other 90 spots for the senior players on the tour, that way it's allowing the oppertunity for some of the junior players, but at the same time, still giving a large portion of available spots for the Senior players, that are looking to participate What are your thoughts on this people?
