I always thought english 8-ball was so successful because 99% of pubs in england have at least one table in them.
So i think the idea of county league is good, but expecting it to work on the scale that it did for marbles is a bit silly.

We're trying to promote a foreign sport here. that's why it's so difficult.
Older people are set in their ways. so the only way of promoting it here, is getting loads of tables out there, and making kids start young.
I think tournaments should benefit the amateurs and younger/newer players. They are the future of the sport and the ones we should aim to please.
