Just got back... the Euro Tour is awesome!

The setup is awesome, great tables, and superb players.

If anyone has been thinking about entering a Euro Tour event, for god's sake do it, you won't be disappointed :D

unlucky tony ,but good event!

like the venue but desperatly need aircon in there..

once again pockets played too easy on the rail, and break was the key once again and getting luck at right time!

like fabio says everybody a champion under these conditions!

but had a really good crack

raj so funny again

he wasnt sure wether he was going america for world summit where he would have been seeded
but he decided on austria glad his got no regrets
well done pal

Unlucky yet again Tony, I watched the final on BWin. I'm gutted for you. Nghia and I were cheering you on... when John missed the ball down the rail at 9-8, we really thought it would be your event.

Keep plugging and it'll come...

Glad to hear you all had a great time, I did too... but I have to admit, turning up on Friday night and then playing solidly on saturday, with barely a chance to stop for 5 mins, really takes it out of you... Also, less chance to chill out and have some fun with the guys. This new format has it's advantages and disadvantages. Seeded players are under pressure from the start to get some wins under their belts, cause the qualifiers coming through get more ranking points if they lose in the first two rounds.

Anyway, luckily for me I managed to get to Sunday, though meeting a very in form Nick Van den Berg sort of scupperred my plans a bit... but hey.. that's 9-ball.

Was good to see you all there as usual... looking forward to Weert.

I forgot to ask, were there any announcements at the start of the event regarding the future of the Eurotour, or format of future events etc. or any other interesting news, which I may have missed?

Well a bad tourny for most of the UK fellas including myself.

Personally im not keen on this format.....i came in on the Saturday, cold having to play players who have got 4/5/6/7 matches under their belt and obviously in stroke!

Especially hard when the tables are playing a little different to normal (cushions extremely lively)

With the other format its fare for all.....all start at same time etc.

Its not sour grapes coz o didnt do very well....far from it. Just tryin to explain my feelings.

On the other hand its hard in a different way for the non seeded players, because if you take Vasalos who won the event....he had to win about 12 or 13 matches to win this event!
Hudji See who beat me won 7 matches to get to me, then went on to win another 4 matches and still only reached the last 16!

Other format is far better all round.

Well done to Tony.....3 2nd places now.....very consistent alround.

lol.....at least i called the winner from the last 8 stage when all the boys asked me who i fancied....Vasalos was my answer!.....and probably the outsider of the 8 players left!

Reason i said this was his record at this event is class......

3 attempts:

2nd
3rd

and now 1st!

U know ur stuff Dazzler!!!!!!!! Lol! For me it was the worst Euro Tour Event i have played in! Tables rolled off,on certain tables u couldnt see the potting angles cos of being blinded by the sun coming through the windows as they had no curtains!!,hotel being miles away from venue and they defo needed air-con! Havin said all this the tournament was run superbly again by David and Gre who do a great job everytime considering there was nye on 288 entries,Austria in general was gorgeous and the beer good to lol lol! Looking forward to the next euro tour event in Weert, but now its back to M,chester this wkend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As far as I remember, nothing was mentioned about future formats or new tours. David just went through the formalities (rules etc).

These tables actually had small pockets compared to the last events.... They are talking about shimming them though, will probably happen in Weert.

Sometimes it feels that, although they do a VERY good job, you need to ask in order to get something from the organisation....I remember the match between Wojciech Trajdos and David Alcaide..they played at the back room and requested a solution for the light coming from the window...Hey presto!!! They put up a blind to cover "that window" but 4 other tables on the same room were left the same just because they didn´t complain.

I agree that you cannot ammend a problem you dont know exists...but as soon as somebody complains you should try to solve it for everybody.

There were actually 229 or 231 players depending on which page you read in the Eurotour website.

Yep, David Morris also moved pot plants next to the blinds to try and hide the glare for Cohen's match!

David Morris has patented a device.

Its a "mobile shim" its basically a piece of rubber with cloth on one side and a very long lasting sticky tape on the other, thats shaped perfectly to fit in each jaw of the pocket....you will be able to get them in any thickness depending on how tight you want to go!

Had a quick try in Austria with them in one pocket (6mill each side) and it made a huge difference!....i was slightly impressed! lol
