I'm trying to find the minutes that we're talking about but all i can find is a list of potential talking points with absolutely zero detail which could have even been put together this morning just to try and shut us lot up. Isn't this just another effortless example?
Hi,
Sorry, I just listed the items from the minutes, you need to download the BPPPA EGM Minutes by clicking the blue link in the article on the homepage.
Download the minutes from the EGM
This should open a Microsoft Word document containing the full details of the Minutes. Well all that blood went rushing to my head and it was pro9's fault But..........(as if i'd be satisfied)..... its still not really what i call minutes, and i certainly cannot beleive any possible excuse or reason why it has taken so long to put such rubbish together. The minutes explain little more than the bullet points i was originally moaning about and there has been no action on the issues discussed. [ This message was edited by: 412-414 on 2007-06-06 16:45 ]

Have to agree with what most people on here think of the "minutes" They were more like a list "actions to be looked into" and hardly any of them have been dealt with! At the end of the day these were almost 6 months ago! And to be honest the editing of this is not a good sign. I will say this once and once only...... When Doug was running the show, although he did the best he could and took the game as far as he could, at the end of the day he was a one man band and this fact held the progress back somewhat. Now to be honest here, the bpppa is exactly the same, even though we have a players council and helpers on the day of events etc etc, EVERY decision is ultimately made by Ted no matter what the players council vote for. We need a team effort here and thats the bottom line, with all due respect, Ted is not a player and therefore his point of view is somewhat different to us, the players. We NEED a worthwhile, definate voting syste implimented. -----------------

Thanks Daryl. Not a one man band, you are forgetting that there were other contributors to the Pro 9 Ball Tour. Brenda put a lot of time and effort into making the Tour a success. There were others - Jon Gale, Steve Knight, Andy Richardson, the guys from Sam Leisure, Shane from Bowlplex, Ray Allard and Fabio Petroni all had input. Former Rileys managers Peter Adams and Bob Tester who pumped over 100k into our events. I paid out over a million pound from events in which I have been involved and it could have continued. I doubt if the World 9 Ball Championship would have existed in it's present form if I had not pestered Barry Hearn into creating Cardiff 1999. Likewise the World 8 Ball Championship with Ahmed Ibrahim in the UAE. All are established events these days. Remember Tokyo, you were seeded into the prize money stages there along with another 4 UK players and Fabio. Challenge of Champions - twice!!
I might have been a One Man Band but I had plenty of No1 hits.
I am sunning myself in Greece at the moment - No not from any money earned from the Pro 9 Tour - that would not have got me a tent on Blackpool beach.
Tommy Donlon - where are you? Four Grand a week for how many weeks in Brunei? And everyone who went to Taipei for the WPC all expenses paid. Can you hear the Music.
See you in Spain next month - courtesy of my good friends on the Spanish Federation.
And in the UAE they think that I can walk on water!
They say that a prophet is without honour in his own country or am I being too profound.
Any way Razzle I know that we are still good friends!

I know from experience that a public forum will do nothing to change things that people are dissatisfied about. The proper place to make changes is a Meeting of the Federation/Association
Looking at the "minutes" of the Extraordinary General Meeting held in January, I was struck by the fact that there were only 12 people present.
The term "General" normally means that it is open to all members and not just a committee.
Of the 20 people that so far have contributed to this topic, only 2,(Lee Rigby and Simon Widlo) were present at the meeting.
Where were the rest of you??

I agree with everything that Doug has said and would add, that if it wasn't for him, David Alcaide would probably not be where is is today.

An Extraordinary General Meeting, commonly abbreviated as EGM, is a meeting of members of an organisation, shareholders of a company, or employees of an official body, which occurs at an irregular time. The term is usually used where the group would ordinarily hold an AGM, but where an issue arises which requires the input of the entire membership and is too serious or urgent to wait until the next AGM.

i suppose the reason for not being allowed to attend is the same as not declaring some parts of the "minutes" - i guess if we knew those there would be even more unrest.

I couldn't go as I was working that day.... but also it was in Manchester so would have been a bit of a trek (360 mile round trip) on a weekend when there was no tournament to go to as well....
I'm a member of the player's council and as far as I know we were invited to the meeting to represent the players. And I haven't seen the full unedited version of the minutes either...

I think other people have already said it but basically the solution to the problem is for the BPPPA to be more democratic. Malaguista I share your amazement that the EGM was a closed meeting. So now you can see why the players frustrations are vented on this public forum. Basically there is nowhere else to voice them. How can items on the minutes be deleted and marked as not for public viewing. What do the players council have to hide. I think that all BPPPA members should now be emailed the unedited version of the minutes and then maybe we can all set about solving the problems that exist. There seems to be a long list of people willing to give a helping hand and with that kind of support shorly we can get things back on track.

To clarify why the some of the minutes were edited... Some of the items discussed, whilst BPPPA matters, were personal at it would not be fair or appropriate for details to be provided publicy to respect the privacy of the individuals involved.
