Well done D4RYL. Every time you beat me you go on to win it! Can we play best of 3 next time? lol. I might get to the hill then! -----------------

Unlucky Stewart but well done on getting to the final. From what I saw on the Saturday he looked to be playing the best pool there and I really fancied his chances of winning it.

Hi guys and gals...... I played quite well on the Saturday to get to the last 16....but today the condition of the tables got to me a little.....didnt play my best by far, but fortunately for me my opponents made mistakes against me at the wrong times in the matches.....or thats how it seemed. Both Jon Davies (last16) and Steve Brown (last put in good shows. Then in the semis Matt Lawrenson (who had just beat Tommy Donlon 9-4) played some great stuff against me....every time i see him play he gets better and better....superb prospect! In the final Stu Colclough played as near to perfect as anyone could on that equipment up to the score being 6-5 in his favour but then made a silly error to let me back in......thats virtually all he did wrong to be honest....a couple of bad rolls on Stu's part sealed the deal for me. This final has been a long time coming for Stu, and i am 100% certain that it wont be too long before he goes one better! All in all, im very pleased to win again as this was yet another strong field.....shame about some of the tables but thats pool in the UK i guess! Very well ran again....especially with only 12 tables.....Shirley did a great job yesterday, and Ted finnished it off today. Looking forward to the next event! -----------------

well done mr peach i watched you play craig osbourne on the saturday and you looked very strong. mark gray is going to have to put in a good tourny soon or i can see you getting back to the top of the charts quicker than you can say ' bpppa'! i heard alot of players complaining about the condition of tables during the day and although they have a point i feel that like golf, a tour season should include coping with different conditions and atmospheres throughout the year to find out who is both the best and adaptable player. im sure the euro tour and top ranked players will disagree but i feel it gives each venue its own character rather than playing the exact same table just in another town like they do on the snooker tour.

that's a fair comment about the tables emesy but from the point of view of someone like myself who is still learning the game and trying to improve i think a certain amount of consistency would be much better.
i realise that not all the tables in every club are going to be top notch but if "professional" pool is going to be played then a reasonable standard of table is required. 2 of the tables i played on were pretty awful and the other one i played on was merely acceptable. maybe me being ill on the day didn't help but i was quite disappointed with the tables.
anyway, enough moaning from me and congratulations to daryl on another win!

Congratulations Daryl! I guess theres is nothing stopping you at the moment.
I have a small comment on equipment in different poolhalls. It sounds like you guys think that conditions are the same in poolhalls where we play the ET, they are not. We have different tables, different aged cloth, different cushionrubber, different pocketsize etc. But, the final table is always the same because Dynamic is a main sponsor to the tour. I guess you play on Sam tables? Haven't tried them yet, but I do agree that you need to be a quick adapter to be a top player in the world today.
Will the results be posted somewhere?? Now that I know quite a lot of players from the UK it would be nice to see the results. Just out of curiosity...

Well done Daryl & Stu.
I can only think about what might have been after being in a very commanding position against Stu in the last 8 and throwing it away with a couple of really crucial misses. I didn't deserve to win and Stuart did, simple as that. Really pleased to see you get to the final and put in such a good performance Stu.
Your unstoppable right now Dazzler. Those few changes in your approach are really making a difference and it's great to see.
The tables weren't the best but to be honest I've seen much worse too. The club was nice though and the staff seemed very accomodating and friendly.
Congratulations to Shir & Ted, especially for Saturday when I think it was amazing they managed to play down to the last 16 with just 12 tables. I know it's not an easy job they have on tournament day and the last thing you need when you turn up is to find that the club took 3 tables out just days earlier without telling you!

Thanks everyone for the praises etc. Emesy, I like that comment about having to adjust to tables etc.....but at the same time there should be "some" consistancy to how the tables play.....the table we played the final on was a real test of patience...especially when you had to use say 2 rails to kick at a ball.....had to learn real fast! lol. Ine, all the info will be on the home page of this site....usually down the centre of the page. Nice one Riggers!....good to see some nice results coming from you these days.....on a more regular basis too. Oh, and Emesy.......Ine is a sorted Lady from Norway.....who i have known for over 10 years....... .......Ah they were the days! .....had hair then too! -----------------

Pear-did u mean pair Boyzi lol lol lol!! U must still b in shock from ur defeat 2 Riggers!!! Emesy,i hope Daryl does get back to No1 in the rankings cos for me he is the best player along with Imran in the UK,now if u got some decent rewards for being No1 in the country then obviously i would like to stay there but as it makes no difference whether ur No1 or No1001 then i dont see as it matters to much. Well done Dazzler at the weekend another solid performance from ya,im just glad u didnt have triplets cos i dont think it wud be worth entering another comp that u play in this year!!!!! lol lol!
Mark.

Hey Mark "Gatso" Gray...(because it was like a flash from behind.... coming from 9-3 down to beat Marcus Chamat in Germany!) hehehehe. Thanks for the vote mate........but to be honest, under the current conditions with tapped balls and alternate break etc, you are defo in the top 4 9ballers in this country....you DONT MISS and that my friend is what its all about with these current conditions! The break, Kicking and safety doesnt play as much of a part in todays events, and when it comes to potting balls there isnt anyone better. Ok there are others who pot as well but not BETTER. And at the end of the day, players are going on about tapped balls and soft breaks etc etc......me included i guess, but what ever the rules you have to play to them and play the best game that you can under those conditions. Mark Gray, Top player, Top bloke. -----------------

This is what I really like about 9-ball - the last two posts from the top players. There's no ego or negative comments that you hear in 8-ball. It's credit where credit's due. It's even stopped raining. such is the feel good factor in the air!
So to Mark and Daryl, long may you continue at the top!

I wa speaking with Lee rigby on sunday and I think the rankings will be up in due course. I dont think its an easy task to update the spreadsheet too, especially when these guys have other commitments too. I shouldnt think itll be too long though

Yes, Ted's asked me to take this job on for him. It's not as simple as you might think and quite time consuming but I've now written some VB in Excel macros that automates it so it should enable us to get rankings out much more quickly in future. The rankings are all up to date now and have been emailed to the webmaster for the BPPPA to post on the site. Hopefully you'll see them soon. Can I just HAIL Riggers for a mo please?
The best tipper in the WORLD as far as I'm concerned...
Hey, I still lost 7-6 after but would have been much worse if it wasn't for Riggers! Re-tipped it between his matches - wonderful bloke!!!
Cheers mate - I owe you one - it's never played so well (if only I was as good as my cue is!)
