I seem to have started something here! Who's got the good story to tell too ... like they won it by hustling Earl Strickland in a bar back in '88 ;-)

For the record ...

Predator LE11 with 314 and Z.
Predator BK break cue.
Gullyassy Sledgehammer (Which i just use for jumping these days)
Predator limited edition case by longoni.

And so many gadgets that I need a backpack to carry them all to the pool hall!

I was playing in the 96 challenge of champions in Las Vegas with a Buffalo "Rainbow" cue (which i won the masters with)......Viking Cues were sponsoring the event, and the MD of Viling Cues approached me and said to me that he couldnt believe that i was playing with this fire wood, and would i allow them to make me a 1 off cue custom made to my measurements, with any design that i like!
I had a think about it for around 1 second and said YES PLEASE!

.......And i have had this cue ever since!

Thats my story anyway!

i havent really got a story about mine i bought it off d'vali last month, he got it made a year or so ago then got it sent back to jim white for the extra inlays to be done, which really set it off
my x-breaker i originally got last november broke after a month i then made a claim off royal mail and last week Richard Chan kindly sent me a free x-breaker coz i was mucked about by a dealer, he also sent me a free t-shirt and stickers which was really nice of him.
We will have to leave a few pages free for all of d'valis cues of course..lol

What do you think of the Jim White cue? How does the shaft play? There was a JW on ebay that looked amazing but didn't sell, and I was thinking of putting in an offer ... Mr Simon D, if I sent you the URL would you mind letting me know if it was worth the money etc etc ...

Yes mate, no problem. James White is one of the best builders on the planet. Easy in the top 10 living cue makers in my opinion.

The White plays great really sweet hit, if you get a chance of buying one take it you won't be dissapointed.
The shaft, well i have played with predator shafts since i started playing and the transition isn't easy you just get so much spin with the preds, at the moment i am in limbo whether to stick it out with the original and try and get used it or get a pred shaft for it, you can get alot of spin with the original probably same amount with pred but takes alot more accuracy and effort, one day i am sh*t hot with it the next i can draw back to save my life but as with any cue it takes time to get used to it, so i'll think i'll give a few more weeks and then make a decision.

Cheers RR21, that’s what I’m a bit worried about. When I first came over to American pool I hated all the cues I tried. I just couldn’t pot the simplest of balls, and could play better with a house cue. The shafts felt like sponge. When I tried the Predator Z it was a revelation. I can now get on with the 314.

Problem is the JW comes with awesome inlays in the shafts too, so I wouldn’t want to shove a pred on. Otherwise I’m better just staying with the LE11 which is a great cues away … couple weeks to think about it before I;m over there ...

Get Jim to make you matching 314s. He doesn't mind.

Playing Cue - Predator 4K3
Break cue - BK2
Jump - Lucasi

Only story I've got was each of the expensive cues I promised myself when a won the money in comps. Orginally I was using a John Lewis £18 cue. Got me to the last 16 in my second Bpppa and won me my first cue. But now I've got them I haven't won since!!

ExpertFluke, i just thought you were rubbish ;-) Stephen hendry (the greatest ever) had his best years with a £30 cue ... may be you should return? After all, your break was better with the old one too!
