Does the double elimination restart at the Last 64 stage?
The EuroTour website results page looks pretty confusing!

I'm not saying they haven't done the best possible with the convoluted two stages of double elimination, last 32 seeded to last 64 stage draw, but I can't wait for the pure simplicity of the single elimination last 16 stage to begin because this... http://www.eurotour.nu/drawresults.asp?discipline=M9...is a lot of hard work!

I think that the only option to satisfy as many people as possible was to introduce the 2 stage tournament. There were 400 applications for the Czech tournament as there were for the Spanish one a couple of months ago. Nobody has space to put in more than 24 tables as far as I know and with that number you can't accomodate more people without extending the days of play.

Hi all, morning after getting back from Czech Republic..... .....Well for me personally, i lost to the eventual Winner AGAIN! which was the Polish lad 10-9 (cant pronounce his name lol) and i also lost to Manalo 10-6. I said to all the brits after the polish Kid beat me that if he played like that all the way through them NO ONE would beat him!....and he did! The event on the whole was OK....i defo liked the other format much better, and from the impression from all players i spoke to, they did too. If you look at the final16 players of this event.....there weren't many big boys left in it coz the other players who had come through the qualifying had an advantage of playing many matches as the seeded players were "cold"...so it was a big leveler in my eyes. Anyway, next event in Napoli and under the old system....lets see how many top boys are in the last16 of that event! ----------------- [ This message was edited by: dazzler on 2007-02-26 10:57 ]

Wow, what an amazing event. The venue and playing conditions could not have been any better in my opinion. Big up to Daryl and Imran who played amazing pool but were both very unlucky towards the end of their matches. Special mention must go to Damien Massey who put in a sterling performance, taking 4 scalps on the winners side to qualify before finishing 25th in the tourney. Awesome performance. Also, our very own Surgeon taking out the well respected Ivica Putnik. Widders didn't miss a ball, awesome performance again! Myself, I had 3 very long gruelling matches. Losing 10-9, winning 10-9 to an italian chap and then losing 10-8. The town was dead, ghost town or what! People need to see the Euro Tours to understand how good these events are. David Morris and Gre did a fantastic job. Si [ This message was edited by: thediamond on 2007-02-26 11:14 ]

I third that!... just got back myself. Another great Eurotour event. I didn't have a bad event myself, eventually got done by Ralf Souquet in last 16. I thought he looked in good shape and fancied him to go all the way, but what do you know, he was beaten by the eventual winner! As always it was good to see all the brits and share a few beers with them. Looking forward to Napoli!

I posted the single elimination Last 16 stage results in a twee little table (with national flags no less) at the bottom of the article here on Pro9,co,uk. I think Poland is definitely a rising force in pool... They're hungry for it, and from the little I've seen, the sport appears to be very popular over there. Yeah, that Wojciech Trajdos is a class act. Daryl called him as a potential winner a couple of days before Sunday. Also, sorry Jonni, forgot to mention you too....great performance.....just do me a favour.....change that flag to a Union Jack

Hey... anyone know if a win and top 8 ranking on eurotour gets you entry into any tournaments such as World Masters, World Pool League or any other cool events?

I am a brit... just got lost in some foreign country... will find my way back to the motherland at some point!!! still trying to benefit from the european route into the pro snooker tour... tough going though, have to win either European Champs or European Open. World Amature also offers a spot... but can't play that cause it clashes with the world 9-ball champs! DOH!
