Problem is I think the events are far too regular now and too many familiar faces. Just my opinion and while it's great to see Arfan on his run etc I can imagine people being bored like they are of Man Utd and Chelsea dominating the premiership, or Sebastian Vettel diminating F1.
I know personally I'd like to see some faces the same but more wildcard matches with different people.
Another personal opinion - don't like how good players can select the table they play on while 'bad' players have no choice but to play on a table that isn't really suitable for £1000 minimum money matches.

I agree that the regularity of events has taken a bit of thr sparkle away and maybe they should just have 2 champions and 4 wildcards to keep it fresh. Disagree bout the table thing though, i played scotch doubles on mmtv 5 on table 2 and the table played really well nothing wrong with it imo. I think it's only right that the better players/matches play on tv table. One of the main reasons for the success of mmtv is cuesport tv's coverage and with the greatest of respect viewers aren't gonna pay to watch category 4 or 5 players?!? Who would of thought it me and Mark agreeing on a mmtv thread! You simply have to put the games people are most likely to watch on the main table....

When I last played on table 2 there was one rail that was dead compared to others. First time I played on it in February though it was lovely. Just didn't play the same way 3 months later.
I know you have to put the best games on realistically, but its also annoying that the good players get 'special treatment'. If we have to put up with what table we are on then they should as well!

I'd love to know if neutrals are more bored of watching lower cat players chopping away (no offence intended) or by me being on all the time. I think I've given some good matches to mmtv and put some good performances in at the same time. If I was playing players that I should be beating easily, then you might have had a point. I'm pretty sure that from my 9 wins, you can argue that I've probably been 2nd favourite in 4 or 5 of them before the matches. As for selecting tables, I personally have never asked Andy what table I want to play on, I've played on the tv table 6 outta 9 but having spoken to Pete, he ideally wants better matches on there as he needs to sell the event for himself. In my last match, my opponent selected the table, I didn't agree to that but I still got on with it and did the job. Just my two pence worth :o). Now, off to Blackpool for some more marbles, lol ----------------- Regards

I don't think people are bored of your performances or your run, it's been a brilliant run and I'll be happy to keep wondering who will be next for you to play. It just seems to be the same faces most of the time. Even the people coming back for wildcard games are the same. Something has to be done to get fresh faces involved, but it's difficult when people down south generally won't travel anywhere. I think it would be refreshing to just have some newer players involved and possibly feature the outside table a little more because as it stands, there is little point to the outside table on MMTV, or the interviews because nothing about the game is mentioned during commentary other than the score. If they had one small camera that focused on key moments in the undercard match, that is all that's needed. I know the table decision was nothing to do with you Arfan and more to do with Barney, but I just don't see why anybody should get to decide other than Pete? I'd hope by now people know I'm a keen supporter of MMTV and it's been brilliant for UK pool especially up North. I would probably not have been so encouraged to play money games if it wasn't for MMTV, and the experiences gained have helped my game come on leaps and bounds. However it is getting a little stale and I think something refreshing needs to be done like a scotch doubles event, or maybe even allowing different games to 9ball. I just think it needs a little bit of expansion and diversity now. This is just my opinion and I'm not offended by any opinions. I'm just offering my own constructive opinion. Baz

Yeah its gone stale lol its been running for 13 months we never fail to fill the cards? I think the format is perfect the way i run it better than the trueman show, There is lots players who put there names down to play but never come forward but thats not my choice it up to them, Has for the tables i dont think any other club in the country re/cloth tables more than i do but your oppinion thats okay too, Andy barnett did not pick his table he just made a comment has to which he hoped he would be on this made no difference to are selection, Its time more fresh faces came forward but apart from arfan all the matches are practically new faces long may MMTV continue stop knocking and start supporting it any player wishing to play on MMTV please apply and lets get your names forward. PS the tables are more than suitable for big games in my oppinion. [ This message was edited by: 9balldog on 2011-07-02 09:47 ]
