Hi,
I have followed all the chat about the Mosconi Cup and variations on possible teams etc; I have noticed Mark Gray has not been mentioned. So my team would be Mark, Daryl Peach, Imran Majid, Nick Van de Berg, Thorston Hohman and Mika Immonen.

Mark Gray before Ralph? Now that's an interesting choice. As much as I respect Mark's game I think it's a bit soon for him to be outsing the Kaiser from the team.

Thats a bit harsh Riggers
The man got to I think 118 finals in all disciplines not including these IPT ones and he won about 105 of them ...
He' 50 odd hadn't played for 15 years when IPT came up.
He might not be what he was , but he is hardly c**p ...
you might not like him as plenty of people don't like Earl but respect where respect due !!!

Im disapointed in u RIGGERS not wanting me in the mosconi team!!!! Personally i think i wud do well 4 the European team and wud expect 2 win more matches than i lost.I watched it last year and know that i wouldnt miss as many balls as some of our players did! Anyway good luck to Europe whoever plays.
Hows this 4 an idea-England V USA?
My team would be:
1.D Peach 2.M Gray 3.D Appleton 4.I Majid 5.K Uzzell 6.R Hundal
This team could beat the USA,anybody disagree?

put that english side against a team made up of the best non british players in europe.. and I think the Europe team would come out top.
But I certainly agree that you should be in the team Mark. You're the only player on the BPPPA that everyone expects to lose against.

Hey Mark, I didn't say I didn't want you in the team. Just that I wouldn't drop Ralph for you. Ralph would be my first player on the sheet right now. He's playing great.

It just goes to show what strength the Uk has in depth, go back say 8-10 years ago we were so excited that we had one brit playing at the highest level "Steve Knight". And here we are now arguing about dropping some of the other Europeans to pick more brits. Its great to name a few "Raj Hundal,Imran Majid,Tommy Donolan,Daryl Peach,Mark Gray,Darren Appleton" theres probably 10-15 players ive missed who can play at the highest level now, and maybe another 30+ who have the potential to play at the top level in a few years. How great is that for British Pool

My pick would be in no particular order:
1.Thorston Hohman 2.Mika Immonen 3.Neils Feijen 4.Darren Appleton 5.Daryl Peach 6.Ralf Souquet
But i think they will pick:
1.Ronnie O Sullivan 2.Mika Immonen 3.Marcus Chamat 4.Neils Feijen 5.Ralf Souquet 6.Raj Hundal

I think you may be spot on. Seems like a team they would select.

I know the IPT is a completely different pool discipline, but there would be a few shock inclusions/ommissions from both sides if the IPT rankings were used as a form guide:
Europe: Hohmann, Souquet, Stalev, Chamat, Peach & Appleton
USA: Matlock, Owen, Nevel, Deuell, Adkins & Strickland
i.e no Morris, no Immonen, no Williams, no Fiejen.
Speaking of Appleton...I'm sure as an ex-English 8-ball player, he'd be better equipped to handle the unique pressures of a team event than most, especially when you consider the amount of team events (Worlds, Euros, Home Int etc) on that circuit?
