Would Raj Hundal be classed as a UK player. Although he now represents India???

Wow! Really enjoying this read.

I know Steve Davis enjoys playing the game and is a good player to boot. But I didn't know Ronnie played all that much? Does he play on the pool circuit in Britain?

BTW who is pooliscool? Is that a nickname?

Keep 'em coming guys!

Hi pooliscool, take it that's your nickname. What's your're real name, you must be a great player to get on that list!

And about the eurpean question, I thought this site was for everyone to discuss about Euro pool? The thread I started was regarding European pool players (actually British!).

Didn't mean to get off on the wrong start, I'm new on this site, don't wanna step on toes! :-)

You've been the victim of the "apostrophe bug" I'm afraid, the forums automatically cut off the remaining title after the apostrophe - I've never been certain why, it's just one of those "quirks" of the site! Apostrophe's work everywhere else... See!

:D

Should it say, "Who is the best?"

Yep, I named it Who's the best, so Who is the best will work!

Up and coming players wise.. Matthew Lawrenson i think was this countries best prospect!!! Does he even still play? The guy couldn't miss.

Regarding Raj Hundal, I think he's classed as Indian now. His signature on here says

"India's number 1"

i personally think "India's only 1" would be more fitting!

Has anybody noticed how more and more people have started hating on Raj?

What's he done to deserve this??

Am I right in saying that this Luke Ronlinson player on the front page is a threat for the future. Looks pretty young.

I think it's real good when younger players do well, it's what it's all about!

Danny you should know Raj was the UK no1 at one time and if you watched the match between him and Richard Jones (just to name a resent one) you would be able to see that he is a real class act.

Richard Jones is one of the UK’s best players (top 8-10 I would say) and Raj beat him very convincingly. No disrespect to Richard at all but for large parts of the set he was second best and outclassed in many departments. My point is that Raj is a world class player and for some reason Danny seems to have something against him.

There are a number of reasons for him representing India not to mention the fact that he is of Indian descent and is very proud of that. What I can assure you of is that Raj did not choose to represent India because he thought he could not be the UK’s no1.

You should remember that players do read this site and your personal attacks for no reason are not appreciated or in fact true.

P.S If you are going to make comments like that you should not hide behind your nickname.

BPotter........ Thinks Danny should use his head more.

I just wanted to get peoples opinions on top Brit players, and the thread gets hijacked.

Hey Spinking, welcome to Pro9 buddy

I could list plenty of great shooters, but that would depend on whether you're looking for potential future action or not.

Any of the top competeing shooters in the UK are capable of shooting lights out pool, to the same calibre as the top shooters in the US, Canada, Asia or Europe, in fact 4 of our top players proved this convincingly with the recent Nations Cup victory.

More so because alot of shooters here, started off playing snooker and so they already know how to roll the rock when they need too.

I hope this helps a little bit at least.

Willie

Interesting thread this one - welcome to Pro9 spinking!

I think that purely based on his achievement of winning the world championship you have to go for Daryl as the all time best. Beating 90% of the Philipino's in the Philipines to take the crown seals that one for me.

As for the best player now - it's a toss up between Darren Appleton and Imran Majid. Daz has been travelling everywhere and is willing to play just about anyone whereas Imran has just been so consistent for quite some time now. His achievements on GB9 last year may never be matched!

Up and coming players - Phil Burford is a class act and Craig Osborne seems to be finding a new level to his game.

Just my opinion though!

I know how good Raj is, I was there supporting him when he won the masters!

I'm not hiding behind my nickname.

I didn't want to start changing the topic of the thread, sorry i was just having a little joke. I like Raj and his game is great, i just think his radio interview did him no justice. He's making out he's a world wide celebrity and millionaire through pool.

I know he's got what it takes, he's a class player. But his once loved confidence, has grown into arrogance recently.

But anyway, enough of Raj, i was just having a little pop/joke, i'll keep my opinion for a Raj Hundal thread next time.

Pooliscool I’m clearly a guy as you can tell from my name. Not part of his management team just a close friend. If someone was having a pop at your mate I’m sure you would say something to.

Danny maybe it was a joke but as I said people and players do read this website as well. If someone was to say things about you I’m sure you would take it personally as well.

Anyway....

Appleton and Majid are the UK's best players now.

yeah mate

it seems to have become a trend on here but 99.9% people on hetunatel;re genuine pool players/fans who are good people who like to have a good chat/debate about our favourite cue sports

unfortunately it gets spoilt by u know who!
