Going to Valley Forge in a couple of weeks (Super Billiards Expo.....kid in a candy store....calm down Si) and I have bought a golf travel bag. This is a £30 bag that has space for your golf clubs and golf bag. So it has room for my clothes, 3 cases and 20 cues.

On 2008-02-28 09:37 , Riggers Wrote:!!! QUOTE !!! Jonathan, you should definately follow bucksters lead, absolutely no question! Just get a long 'cricket style' bag that will fit your cue inside. Also instead of just putting your clothes inside loose put them in another smaller lightweight sports bag. That way if you do find you are overweight you can just take out the lightweight bag and carry it as hand luggage.
I've never had any problems since I started putting my cue in my bag like this and never heard of any but I've heard of countless problems from people who check their cues in separately. Also as buckster mentioned it's the most cost efficient way as there's no extra baggage charge.
Soething like this: http://www.holdall.co.uk/product/22079/145/gray_nicolls_nitro_cricket_bags
Cool - thanks for the link.

Where can I get one of those Si. Sorry I know I'm being a bit dim here but do you just check that in as per a normal suitcase with no probs? Just read this, sorry for lack of a reply Johnathan. PC got me mine, not sure where from, that was including shipping and duty. Is this something the Pro shop can stock??? Mine has been great. Having said all that.....I am going to get the Cricket bag like Riggers suggested now. The Golf bag is good but it is massive, I think the Cricket bag is more manageable. Yeh, more and more people on the EuroTours that have had their cues go missing or seen others have their cues go missing are reverting to the cricket bag trick and you really can't go wrong with that.

How many zip pockets are on the inside? I think this is a copy. It looks a good copy though so its a good find....... Remember in the early days people had the laperti soft cases the 4x8's and other companies made copies it looks like the same has happened again lol!!!!! Laperti are not good with copyrights ----------------- [ This message was edited by: PC on 2008-02-29 10:09 ]

I'm looking to fly down from Glasgow to London.
It's ok shoving the cue in a long bag and putting this in the hold but my main concern is the insurance if it gets lost and stolen. Just looked at Flybe and they don't seem to have any insurance on the flight.
Seems a bit silly restricting pool cues if they can be locked away in a case (I can carry my case on but it's more dangerous than the cue since it's metal). Is there no way at all to carry your cue on with you?

No you cannot carry your cue on with you as it's on the list of prohibited items and could be used as a weapon. You can get cheap single trip or multi-trip travel insurance from virtually anywhere. [ This message was edited by: Riggers on 2008-03-05 13:11 ]

Hmm, do you think the airport scanners will pick up the text 'ANTHRAX' printed on my Poison cue?
I can see me getting into trouble!!
