so does chris robson, he's played very few tournaments in the last 12 months due to work..
i practice with chris a lot and he will be very hard to stop in the challenge tour.
prediction then..
chris robson to be promoted comfortably.... alongside burton, walsh, parker, widlo, ainsworth-smith, and either chapman, hyden, buckmaster, davies or medati fighting for 7th/8th spot....
should be ultra competitive and good to watch...

its going to be very tough for anybody to be promoted for the pro division next year. People will have to be bringing their A games to each event

Ainsworth-Smith, Walsh, Parker are definately favourites for promotion. There should be loads of people in with a shout and hopefully a few surprises aswell will perform well. I've played a bit with Phil Burford who is a class player. He has given me a few pointers, I'll be confident in the challenge for a decent run, although I don't expect to be challenging for promotion I wouldn't be playing if I didn't think I could win some matches. Is everyone planning on staying and watching all the way to the finals or do people head off when you lose? [ This message was edited by: mal_clarke on 2008-01-02 13:14 ]

Made me laugh Nice one Adam. I really think the Challenge Division holds more fascination than the Pro in many ways because it's all about chasing promotion. No one has mentioned Scott Higgins, Andy Appleton, Andy Barnett, Tim Singh, Nick Wollerton or Lynette Horsburgh who are all *very* good english pool players and know their way around the 9 footer pretty well too. It's going to be a real dog fight in there and I'm going to work my **** off to try and stay in the Pro Division 'cos I don;t fancy the job of trying to get promotion

To be honest I think everyone will need to be on the top of their game. I don't think there will be any easy matches and I am hoping that the quality of opponents will bring out the best in me as I certainly don't want to be going home early from the events. Looking forward to the first competition immensley.

Shame well-known players don't join but people move on and others take over. Hopefully they will see it works out alright and join up next season.

Not a sausage mentioned about Tom Gilvarry. Some of you newer players will not know him but if he has the same form as the old days, lots of folk are in for a shock.
Great things happening in our sport people, can't wait for it to start!
Happy New Year........woooooooooooooohhhoooooooooooooo!
