Dont't the Euro Tour's have different number of tables at each venue and some limit the entries?
So in hindsight, a larger venue could accomodate more players and bigger prize fund.......
And going by the EPT entries, there are plenty of players who will stump up the entry fee of £100 to play in a superb event on their doorstep.

Manchester 235 Casinoooo...
it's huge, spacious, no windows, private tv room for the final. huge bar/lounge area, two restaurants but im sure they'll organise food for the players.
touchscreen computers dotted all around, so you can access bwin and have a bit of a flutter if you get knocked out. it will draw in spectators too.

Sounds good Danny, and is that in a spare conference room in the casino itself?
Could it cater for 24 or more tables?

How many UK players were in the Euro Tour held in Mosconi's Leeds out of curiosity?

Manchester/Streford seems to be at the centre of pool events these days, and practically speaking its got an international airport of course - not sure about cheap flights though? Overall, I'd probably recommend somewhere around there. There just doesn't seem to be too much happening south of the Watford gap - probably mostly down to the cost and the small size of the venues as you get closer to London. Probably Mickey Flynns is about the only venue I can think of that could possibly hold such an event, lots of good cheap and cheerful B&Bs near the venue, good rail connections and only 30 miles from Stansted Airport, but alas.. no beach and casino in Cambridge [ This message was edited by: SlowAdey on 2007-06-20 16:47 ]

There's two floors... the bottom floor could probably get 15 tables in. and upstairs, upto 45 tables.
the private room could get 3 tables in. and it's not a conference room. it's a live room for music events. Channel M (who recently covered a bpppa event i think) film a tv show called The Great Northern in there quite frequently.
Hence the lighting rigs and camera setup.

Oh sorry, just realised what you meant after reading it again.
No that's not a spare conference room, thats the main gaming floor. So maybe it wouldn't be possible, either that or it'd be very expensive, as the casino would lose business for a weekend.
But there is a third floor which has a restauraunt, which could be stripped down, that overlooks the whole casino gaming floor and has a private bar.

26 players played at the Mosconis Euro Tour event, it's actually in Hull not Leeds.

Well the ricoh arena is a terrible idea, in fact anywhere in the midlands is a bad idea coz people just talk too funny and are generally a bit thick.
Blackpool could be good if you could make it from your car to the venue without being mugged by a holiday maker in a prince charles rubber mask.
I think dazzler has summed up anywhere in scotland perfectly.
Manchester could be seen as a favourite but its just to close to bpppa HQ - i'm sure the eurotour organisers wouldn't really want that load of rubbish stickin their nose in.
Nobody has mentioned wales - no surprise there then.
The south west would be no good coz i prefer using aramith pro balls, not apples.
Thats it i've got it, lets play the british eurotour in Gibralter!

Hey guys, what about Solihull?.... after all, it is a good venue, and was particularly popular, when the tables were recovered for the EPT event there last year, also, Birmingam airpost isn't close at hand as well, and so, as fas as I can teel, it's a good venue, but I'm not sure how many tables are in solihull, and so, I'm not sure, that they would have enough tables, but location wise, it would be a decent venue Willie

Surely we don't want our one chance at getting a stop over here, and impressing the euro's, at a Rileys?

I know it's not the best of ideas, but it's not like there's a whole line of sponsors and big venues, waiting to jump at the chance to hold a ET event here. Well, here's one for you, what about in Cardiff International Arena?, we've already experienced the WPC there for 5 or so years, and we all know that the main arena could easily hold up to 20 tables or so, and Cardiff Airport isn't far from there either Either way, I'm not too bothered because I'm happy to go with the majority Willie

What nobody has mentioned yet is who is going to pay for having the Eurotour in the United Kingdom. You have to purchase the right to host this tournament and it doesn't come free and it doesn't come cheap. I am not going to go into the costs here as they form part of a contract that has to be signed between the EPBF and the host organisation.
The venue, you are not likely to get free, you need the space for enoungh time to set up your tables, play the tournament and remove the tables afterwards unless you are using a club. If you are not using a club, you have to find the minimum of 16 tables, you need experts to install them and the same experts to remove them after the tournament If you are using a club it must have a minimum of 16 tables. The venue must have internet access. The host nation has to guarantee at least 30 players or if not you have to pay the difference.
Etc. Etc.

I believe the venue gets charged between £7000 and £8000 to host the euro-tour event, so pity Mickeys does not have enough tables as Indiana would have paid it out of his own pocket...

The venue was a cave!!! high up in the rock. Seats were the rocks inside and the drips from the stalactites meant that the table had to be protected by a field hospital tent.
Fabio Petroni won the tournament and the other entrants included Marcus Chamat, Jimmy White, Anthony Ginn, Kevin Smith, David Alcaide and Ross McInnes. Mrs McInnes was the ref.

I would love going over the pond and play a tournament! I am sure there will be the same number of entrants (or more!) there as in the other venues.
Hope you find a suitable place with owners wanting to pay for it, we didn't Norway, it got too expencive... what a surprice..

Not quite sure what you mean by that Mr Dazzler, unless you are suggesting that the BPPPA actually spend that money for a change.....
