I've updated the front page with news from the World Pool Masters... Pat won his match too, not a high class match, the article explains it all - it's worth reading!

It was great to see Pat Holtz win yesterday and I was hoping to be able to report that Imran won today too, and it certainly looked like he was on his way, taking a 3-0 lead against World No.1 Niels Feijen, but it wasn't to be. Although both players made some howling mistakes in this match, Imran played far better pool in the first half of the match, but unfortunately for him, Niels played a blinder in the second half. Particularly costly for Imran were two unusual incidents. One, where he had to play a difficult off-angle combination shot on the seven/nine, and he asked for a time extention - Michaela denied the request straight-away informing him that he had already used it this rack, and Imran had to hurry the shot, and missed it. The other mistake was taking loads of time to play the first shot after the break (a push-out) and forgetting to announce it... Michaela once again immediately called a foul on Imran, and he was looking a bit sheepish in his chair whilst Niels ran out the rest of the rack with his ball-in-hand head start. All-in-all, there's been some pretty poor pool on show so far... The players seem to be struggling a bit, with the exception of Wu, who played a blinder this afternoon. Jasmin Ouschan is playing this evening... Woohoo! They're even pronouncing her name Ocean here too! I don't thionk she minds though. John McDonald isn't here busy elsewhere apparently! Anthony Suntai IS here instead... (I've got to check the spelling). Amstell is giving me headaches after just half a pint??? What the heck is going on there? I've met so many great people here I don't want to come home! This reads like a postcard... Pat Holtz just beat Niels 8-5 in the WPM! Can you hear me in The Hague? Can you hear me in Amsterdam? Your boy took a helluva beating! Raymond Van Barneveld! Shir from Pro9! Vincent Van Gogh, can you hear me? (OK, maybe Vincent's a bad idea, but I can't think of any other famous Dutch folk at the moment!) You're boy took a helluva beating! Sorry - had to be done! thecardman www.scottish9ball.com The Cardman's Blog Heck, I'm even on MySpace![ This message was edited by: thecardman on 2007-06-10 14:49 ]

Pat played absolutely brilliantly - very calm, and sharing a little joke with the audience every now and again.

Alcaide advances to the final with a win in the semi final over Pat Holtz - a nice payday for Pat, especially as he's off to Florida for a holiday shortly.
Good luck David in the final - he'll get the winner of Engert or van den Berg.
