How about the fact that people arent kept in the loop at all? Correct me if im wrong, but there has been very little admin / marketing done this year, if any, so where have the membership fees actually gone?

You perhaps could justify them in yrs gone by but not for the current season.

BPPPA is set up as a non profit organisation but is not a charity as far as I know.

.....And i know money isnt everything, but i was playing in 9ball events 10 years ago that were £1200 for the winner.......so absolutely nothing has changed.

10 years is a long time for no improvement.

Ok then to the players council please, can you put forward to the BPPPA organisation that I would like an accounts sheet for the year so I can see what is happening with the money, surely this will be easy for a member to get.

The rallying cry on the other thread really wont work this time for many players. You cant keep failing to deliver & expect people to carry on regardless. Sooner or later people will jump ship and I expect it to be sooner.

Why only mention the big tournament once a yr when membership fees are due? Its fundamentally wrong IMO and its insulting to the players for it to keep happening.

how is the BPPPA set up is it a company or a charity do the accounts have to be published ??

just wondering cause it seems here that everyone thinks they can do better and as such why not put your name foward to take over or buy control ????

i personally dont think anyone is giving any credit to ted and i think that is a shame.

i have not been in the sport that long but long enough to learn nearly everything that has been tried long term has eventually collapsed and i have no answers except to say i think over the last 3 years the BPPPA has done a fine job

Hi pooljedi, if you read my main post earlier in the thread, i mention how much hard work it takes for people to run a tour and that it often goes unnoticed.

The point we need to look at here is that the bpppa have announced this tournament for the past 3 years just before the memberships are due......we are still waiting to see it!
You cant really blame the players for thinking the worst when it happens year after year can you?

I'm sorry to say that but it is what everyones thinking!

Daryl

your the last person i would have a go at you did try something and put your money where your mouth is

my only point is that everything seems very negative when it is not the case

i do think the UK champs has been a disappointment but im not sure it was the reason people joined the BPPPA.

i cant believe for one minute that everyone here complaining would have played , do play , are members ect

you know who i am i know you but we dont know half the people on this forum

its like me complaining about the lack of cup final tickets when i dont support any of the teams !!

.........also, i spoke to Shirley earlier today on the phone. She has been trying to get hold of Ted to ask about what is happening here.....even though she has NO involvement with the organisation of the bpppa (only runs the event on the day) she wanted to get to the bottom of this to try and answer some of our questions.

........Well, apparently he didnt answer his phone at all, even to her.

nuff said about communication.

Understood mate, but to be honest, i wouldnt have payed for my membership this year if it wasnt for the fact that Ted says we have to be a member of the bpppa to have any chance of playing in any Matchroom events. ....like a sort of blackmail if you like.....i mean why has this been put in place apart from getting the players to fork more money out as usual?

Did you know that Britain is the only country that has this rule in place! (as far as i know anyway after asking around)

pool jedi - people were gettin anxious about the state of the BPPPA long ago. I reckon a lot of the players DID join up primarily to be part of the UK champs. The numbers were dropping & the carrot got dangled only for it to fall through AGAIN.

I put it to you that a lot of people have a vested interest in pool one way or the other or they wouldnt comment on here.

People have every right to be disgruntled & express their opinions on here.

fair enough lads if you were blackmailed to pay on a promise then demand away

i joined and pay my entrance fees as an improvement journey not for the same reasons as you daryl

my only chance of winning olt at the moment is to actually get jedi powers !!!

i am still very intrested to know how the BPPPA is set up and how it can be built upon as opposed to setting more tours ect..

Yeah i agree, and as Ted says in all his announcements....."its the member of the WPA, EPBF" etc etc etc!

So at least you have a starting point.

ted told me got to be a member to beable to play euro tour is this true ive no reason to not believe him of course

ive played 1 event this year cost me £200 with exos maybe 250..

the way things have gone or going..maybe its time to get all players together and refuse to pay member fees coz we have obviously recieved nothing in return.. but in the letter to why british 9ball was cancelled he said they spent alot of money and time on trying to get the event together?what money was spent on this event?maybe thats where it all went guys

think it could be a good idea imo for shirley and maybe lee to run a tour from fresh because bpppa doesnt seem to be working at moment !

The Eurotour is an Open Event and you do not have to be a member of anything to be able to play.
They tried this in Spain some years ago when the so-called "official" EPBF member for Spain tried to ban David Alcaide because he wouldn't play with an organisation that insisted that you could only play in clubs with Valley tables.
When they tried to stop him playing in Austria (I think it was) Doug Gordon was responsible for getting him back into the tournament.
After David played in his First World Championship, the "Official" EPBF member for Spain said that he would never play in another World Championship.
The following year he was invited by the oranisers and hasn't looked back since.
The same organisation that banned Francisco Diaz (Paquito) for 8 years because he didn't play in one of their tournaments in Madrid.
The ban was lifted when we formed another association and they were desperate for players.

I find it completely unethical that effectively you are forcing/blackmailing someone to pay the membership fee by saying you cant compete in the Euro Tour otherwise.

I cannot believe people tolerate this sort of nonsense. Any other business would having been sent packing.

There are many UK players that arent BPPPA members and play on the Euro Tour regularly. Surely if it were an issue, they would have been advised by now?

Well c,mon everybody lets start a new 9-ball tour where everything is voted on by the players, a yearly accounts sheet given to every player, a designated person who will look after getting sponsors, someone who will update the website regular so everyone knows where they are, why do we just keep talking about it... and as Nike says... Just Do It
