Well volunteered Sy. Seeing how you will be super busy draughting an agenda, I won't come round tonight I like what has been suggested today also. The next Council meeting will be minuted and I will take the minutes.

So who is going to decide when the proper time to discuss this again is then? Or will there be some other issue come up that makes it politically incorrect to have a constructive discussion!! Wouldn't want to step on anyones toes!!!

There is nothing wrong with a full and frank discussion about this subject. It effects us all so why not. Players want change so it needs to be discussed...that is clear. What isn't appropriate is to do the same discussion and start bashing indiviuals and organisations on this public forum. No toes are being stepped on Pool-Ace. I hate to have to agree with Daryl as he lives in Blackpool (totally unacceptable) but he has a point that the same money is being paid out as it was 10 years ago. There has only been one price increase in all that time and again no sponsor...so why would the money go up? How can it? So change is required. Suggestions should be made here....some good ones today. I love this sport and I want to continue playing it. Its in everyones interest to take note of whats happening. I for one do not want to see a repeat of a few years ago. Lets just get it right. As I live in Leeds, Mikey lives in Reading....we will have the next Players Council Meeting at the next event. Agenda items if you will........ Sy, make it about 9.30 - 10pm pal. Si [ This message was edited by: thediamond on 2006-12-19 16:47 ]

Agenda on it's way then. Anyone who has any ideas, PM me and I'll collate them all and produce a pack. I'll post the pack on here so everyone can see the contents before the meeting commences, sound ok?

Been down the other route many times and nothing gets done mate.
Everyone reads this forum including Ted and all the other promoters....thats why we saw the minor improvements towards the end of the year i.e score boards, match times etc.........i had been mentioning this to the board for months and months before hand, so in that instance this forum was well worth its salt. Personal bashing i dont agree with though, but i dont think thats been done in this thread really.
This is all for the good of the pool scene.
E9PT?....Yes Mark and myself could have put a 9ball tour on with bigger money instead of out 8ball tour, but that never came into our heads because I know the work that Ted has put into the bpppa to get it to the stage that its at now and that isnt what the EPT is about, and like its already been said here....2 9ball tours isnt good as we saw when Ted arrived against Doug. Ted doesnt put any events on regarding to the other disciplins except for maybe 1 8ball event per year with half prize money, so i personally agree with more tours of different disciplins because at least it gives us a chance to catch up to other nations like USA for 1 who play everything. We are miles behind when it comes to 1 pocket, bank pool, 14-1 etc because we havent had the chance to play them on a competative front!
The other thing to mention about this 1 tour thing, is what good has it done in the past? I mean really guys come on, Doug was the only tour for a good 6 years or so, then Ted came along for the next 3 years, and we are still exactly in the smae spot as we were 10 years ago when doug first started!....i remember 10 years ago winning events and getting £1200 every time, last event winner got £850! nuf said!
At the end of the day, if players feel that they are not getting value for money then they will just stop playing and take up golf or something......you only need to look at the players over the years that have come and gone to learn that.....i can think of at least 100 names easy!!!
The main thing that needs to be done is LESS EVENTS!....just take a look at the EPT site, and what it says on the "ABOUT" page, when it comes to the number of events.
Im sorry for the length of this post but id rather say everything in one go than 20! hahaha.....im a busy man....hahahaha!
exactly! great post! no-one is or was bashing just trying to create a better future for uk players! and a few home truthes never hurt anyone! excellent post by daryl and great to see the diamond having is two peneth! x

Hey buddy , that's a better idea and I second thediamond's sentiments on his latest reply Although I'm over here in Northern Ireland, I'll only be too happy to help out in some way to try and work it out, that we can make the entire pool scene better for everyone involved I'll PM you and see how it goes Willie [ This message was edited by: TheWizard on 2006-12-19 17:18 ]

Agree less tournaments, higher entrance fees but to attract the up and coming players, ie Juniors under 18 charge them £20 but a big reduction in any prize money they win, although you give them the option to pay in full if they feel good enough to win the tournament, and has I said in a post somewhere before should an under 18 win prize money then that money over could be added to next tourny fund, As for Wheelchair competitors I think they should be able to enter for a minimal charge with no restriction on prizes. Ladies unless in the say top 50 should have same option as Juniors, then that way any lady player who feels good enough will pay the full amount.
Get Well Soon Ted....................

Get Well Soon Ted.................... Now there's a few good suggestions in one post, right there also , after all, it would be great to see some of the lady and junior competitors competeing in the same events as the guys because I believe that there are quite a few ladies players that are just as competitive and skilled as the guys Nice one Sparky , anyone else have anything else to add? , after all, the idea is to make the the Pro Tour and the entire sport get better and be able to reach the standards and rewards that everyone would like to see, the entire Pro pool scene in the UK, achieve to what it has got the potential for Keep the suggestions and ideas rollin people , they're all welcome and here to be heard I also would like to echo the get well message for Ted also , I hope that you're doing much better Ted and I hope that you have a great Christmas buddy Willie

All,
The next BPPPA Player's council meeting is this Saturday 27th Jan 07.
Myself, Diamond, Nigel Francis, Nigel Webb & Ted will be there representing the main tour. I have collated the main points from this thread and created an agenda of sorts, call it 'players concerns and queries' if you like. I will post it on here tonight and would welcome all thoughts and any additional questions (apologies for the short notice but my day job is consuming the majority of my time at the moment!)
We may not have an opportunity to cover ALL points in one go due to time constraints, but rest assured minutes will be taken and published thereafter on the BPPPA site and on here (thanks to Mr D'Vali for picking this up). Any points not discussed WILL be covered at future meetings.
If anyone has any questions, please drop me a PM.
Regards. Simon..

Surgeon, Is the meeting in Manchester by any chance...lol Can you confirm where it is and can anyone attend, as I am sure there are plenty who would love to see what gets talked about. I think this is a valid point, and depending on time and place I would like to attend myself. Thanks in advance.

The reason for having a players council is to reiterate the wants and needs of the players. Turning it into a free for all would be farcical. Its not a meant to be a forum. The questions have been structured and will be answered in turn. Players have had ample chance to contact Simon Widlo with their concerns over the last 2 months. Simon has collated these thoughts and they will be presented on Saturday. ParsleySauce, if you want to attend a meeting then ask to be a member of the players council. You will have to be voted in. As Sy has said, the salient points of the last two months will be raised on Saturday. If there are any further comments then I suggest people get their skates on and contact Sy asap. The minutes of the meeting will be published. [ This message was edited by: thediamond on 2007-01-26 11:21 ]
