Not necessarily if you can play you have a chance!
Why don't we keep discussing the tour, it sounds like you guys want us to stop posting about it! I'm interested in the solution, if I miss out I miss out. Saves lots of players a whupping (LOL).
Everyone is right behind the new tour, that's why we are keen to be a part of it.

just hope there is a way we can all get in, its great that there is so much interest, and people are going to know they have to raise their game, maybe even just to qualify. It'll definatly raise the bar for uk pool

must admit i'm surprised at the level of interest. it is very costly compared to other events. it is also "untested" - so players must trust the organisers. how much is paid out compared to the amount that is taken in? there doesnt seem to be any money added from a sponsor is there?
good luck with it all.

Quite a lot but remember most will pay in Barnsley.

I'm really glad to see the amount of interest in the new tour and I very much hope that it will be the very tour that will get American Pool in the UK, the recognition it rightly deserves. EDIT - I've just requested to be on the reserve list, but in thinking about it, I reckon that it is possible to maybe get the 128 players, but at the same time, unless it's gonna be a guarranteed 128 players in each event, it's an option that isn't really feesable, especially with the extra amount of table time required. well good luck in getting on the tour Willie.
If 128 people pay then i would imagine that the majority of the time most of them people will show, unless they have a reason. If they dont, then they have must have some serious money to thro away

Thanks buddy, but I'm not holding my breath, because I already imagine that there are quite alot of players on that reserve list, and so, I'm more open minded to the possibilities of playing in '09, but I'll see what happens, and take it from there That's true, and besides, it just wouldn't make sense to pay for tour fees, only to not play in as many of the events as possible Willie

I don't think there's anything wrong with speculating - we might throw up a decent idea that the committee hasn't thought of! Just helps everyone express their opinions before decision and rules are set in stone.

As long as England has a tour that is the main thing, the one-off events are fine but a recognised tour with proper rankings is what everyone wants.
I would urge them to look at Northern places like Darlington etc in the future, (speaking as someone from Durham is Manchester really in the North?!!) so everyone gets a chance to play from all areas as there are excellent players in the North East who don't play 9-Ball because there is nowhere to play.
There is not one proper 9-Ball table anywhere in Newcastle or Durham!

Tour Stop No4, Scarborough is only 66 miles from Darlington and 80 miles from Durham. What do you want, jam on it? [ This message was edited by: devil on 2007-11-29 16:04 ]

I think the problem is as stated that there are not many clubs "Up North" and the requirement is a club has to have 16 or more. There is also no representative from the South (excluding London) such as Plymouth, Brighton, Portsmouth, Bristol etc. But as I am from Birmingham I don't mind. Also my in-laws live in Scarborough 1 mile from that venue. And my mother in law does a fantastic roast dinner, I just hope I am on the Tour to take advantage of this.

The number of clubs able to accomodate a tour of our size is very limited. I was really hoping we could include North East England or South East Scotland along with Wales or the west country. The latter wasn't possible but I was very pleased we managed to come up with Scarborough and hope the Geordie players are happy with that even though it's not exactly on their doorstep. It's probably the venue I'm looking forward to more than any other. [ This message was edited by: Riggers on 2007-11-29 16:20 ]

Riggers i spent a few days there in Aug this year and we had fantastic weather. The beaches are superb. Which hotel have you managed to do a deal with if any. One of them was shut down after a spate of food poisoning.

So you want the GB9BT to look at places like Durham and Newcastle yet you say there's no American 9 ball tables in Durham? Scarborough is just down the road anyway and Manchester isn't that far!
Riggers always said way before the tour was formed that they will try and get venues evenly spread round the country but it depends on the actual venues and number of tables available.
I think they've done a great job and its easy for me to get to all venues and I'm in Glasgow and don't drive!

I was not having a go at Riggers for not using the North East Durham and Tyne & Wear region. I actually said in my posting there are no clubs. That is not the fault of the pro tour. Hopefully a club will pop up here one day. Bizarre that gallantly you jump to the defence of the new tour despite the fact I never made any comment relating to club selection. Alright. It just seemed funny suggesting the GB9BT look in places up north where there aren't any clubs. It sounded like you were suggesting they hadn't bothered.
"I would urge them to look at Northern places like Darlington etc in the future" surely this is a comment relating to club selection - i.e. they haven't looked there.

What your saying would be true if I didn't know there was not a suitable club, but I do, so you are misreading what I said. I explained it, and was not being 'funny'.
