I cant see it happening. The powers that be have had plenty of opportunity to try & set the record straight but all they seem to have done is promised non existent tournys.
At least on the Euro Tour, the ranking means something & you get to see the world. Are people really that interested in playing for pride no!!

lets not lose sight of what kicked all this off though. Info on the UK Championship. and then the secondary topic of "we're not happy with the current situation!"

So pooljedi you think this is a financial issue i dont think its all financial but i did want to clarify what amounts are being discussed the tour itsself is much better run recently the tables got tapped we went to alternate breaking all things discussed last time so things do happen IMO i agree there are still issues and i agree we need clarification on future venues and the UK champs but there always seems to be a massive onslaught as soon as an opportunity to have a dig at the BPPPA is presented on this site. we are upto 100 posts ish and i know some are from the same posters but we only get 60 odd at the tourneys personally i think the idea of open meetings the morning of a tourney attended by all members and votes on certain situations is the best way to go

from speaking to people over the course of this season i get the impression that the improvements are down to one person......Shirley! I've heard nothing but praise about her however surely she cannot raise the BPPPA on her own.
As for 60 odd entrants, some of that is down to people showing their lack of belief in the tour and others just hacked off with the events being held in manchester nearly every time

Well i been away for a while and I thought things could only get better but it seems to havve goten worse, All the BPPPA need to do is keep the website updated regular with latest news etc etc and up to date everything but that is not done all answers could then be posted on there, and I do agree with the BPPPA that they do not have to reply on a forum but they do need to answer regular somewhere. The EPT I ran with Daryl was simple and I do not see a problem in the running of the BPPPA me and Daryl used to answer queries regular and usually with 24 hours, I started the Inter-League Snooker and the Challenge Tour and look at them running successfully now and I gave all that up to take up 9-ball, The grand Masters was an idea me and Boyzi put together in the car on the way home from a tournament and 4 months later what a great success, I have made offers to Ted to help but they just get ignored, I am available to update websites on an almost daily basis and stas etc which people used to see on EPT events, I could put a 9-ball tour or a mixed discipline tour together in no time and work on sponsors as I had also offered to do for the BPPPA, next years Grand Master I hope will be double prize money, I can also put together a website in no time for a new tour and can do this at no expense using my own servers so come on something needs to be done I have hung my cue up and sold everything as I have totally quit playing but I am here to help raise this game... like Nike say ... Just Do It Yeah before you say it some of you may say I gave up playing years ago. c,mon guys give me something to do I got plenty of time to do stuff now. A monthly comp in Manchester does not a pool tour make. The numbers are dropping because a lot of the poor gits down south cant warrant travelling to Manchester every month, and then need to make the semi just to break even.
There simply has to be an alternative to this for any tour to last, espeically if it is supposedly national.
In theory, the open meetings idea is good, but in reality, the BPPPA will not allow this to happen and votes will just get overruled - exactly like Dazzler said earlier.

Another idea is for the Micky Flynns comp to affiliate to the BPPPA and then make them events in Cambridge part of the ranking system for the BPPPA then the BPPPA do not even have to be there unless they want to, there are many ideas that can make this better if the BPPPA will let people who are only trying to help them become bigger and better not trying to see the end of them.

It is only for the use of ranking, but the bpppa make the overall rules based on this this then gives the southerners who do not like travelling a venue to play.

I say again, Mark and the Dazzler should bring the EPT back or start another tour to run along side the BPPPA or even take over the whole thing themselves......

Why cant Mark, Ricardo, Shirley and Daryl work together on a new tour, it seems that they all have credentials to make a tour a success, surely there would not be an issue of egos

can we have an official statement from the BPPPA on all this????
The last time something like this kicked off, Ted stated that he wouldn't respond to individual posts on here but he's completely clammed up and not responding to anything (albeit he's been in hospital for a while) but an official statement is required ASAP in my opinion

Riggers - it certainly wasn't meant to be personal and if taken that way i apologise. It just seems to me that EVERY player i have spoken to (probably 50+) find the general situation a complete joke. My point is that when someone is on the players council or have other connections with the BPPPA, they seem to be somehow blinded from the truth and only want to discuss things out of the lime light. ITS ABOUT TIME THAT THE BPPPA, PLAYERS COUNCIL MEMBERS AND MOST OF ALL THE PRESIDENT OPENED THEIR EYES, WERE HONEST, AND STARTED TO MAKE THINGS HAPPEN. Apology accepted. I completely agree that it's about time the players council start to make things happen otherwise it's a pointless existence. As someone has already pointed out many good things have happened recently so we need to make sure it doesn't stop there as there is lots more to be done. That's exactly why I'm asking for views but as much as you are all entitled to discuss openly in public forums I'd rather take sensible constructive comments privately in person or by email and then see whether the players council is an effective forum for moving it forward. I've already had some good comments about finances and communication so that's a good start. That's me done with this thread!
