This all needs properly debating with the right people in a room rather than having a bashing ****-taking thread on here.

There is a players council already but I'm not sure how effective it is. Like I said before I don't think this is the time to be discussing such fundamental issues about the BPPPA and I'm sure it can wait a few weeks. I think most people accept how important it is that we have a professional organisation in the UK and it's good that people are keeping events ticking over while Ted is unwell.

She was fine until she read this thread Come out for a night soon and have a few beers with us. You can stay over if you want. Why not enter the weekly tournament in Rileys Barnsley this Thursday? It's 8 ball this week and as I'm off work Friday I'll be having a few beers and hopefully catching up with Lefty [ This message was edited by: Riggers on 2006-12-18 16:29 ]

well if im correct this is a disscusion forum... well im discussing my views as a person looking not as a person involved though i would like to be involved! and i can understand why some choose not to debate this topic, i would suggest they are tired of not being listened too and ignored and told to xxxx xxx!
i on the otherhand am new to the seen and therefore airing my views i dare say its been said a million times before but we all have freedom of speech and im having mine! how on earth can anyone pay £165 and not know what its for,i mean common HELLO 2007 a players union is a suggetion with a well respected season campaigner at the head and it needs to player! the ept is good cos its organised by player yhat as heard the bxxxxxxt for 20yrs the ept provides a tour for the players imho the bpppa is not providing a suitable tour for the players! now is that statement harming anyone? NO

I know what the exact problem is and not one of you have mentioned it or said it, but it is blatently obvious!!!... there are simply TOO MANY TOURS!!!!! and the more new tours that are set up, the more they are making love up the circuit, not just for those who actually want to compete at professional level, but also for those who want to compete and play full time. There's the SAPPA, BPPPA, EPT, APN Leagues, Irish Tour, the propesed 10ball tour, etc, it's all f*cked up, not in terms of the prize money, but the travelling, entry fees, travelling, etc. While there are all these tours, there will never be a solid professional circuit, period!!! The only solution to make the entire professional pool scene better in the UK, is if ALL tours and operators in the UK, were to be in 1 complete tour structure, e.g. having the people behind all the other tours, working together to make the entire sport alot stronger and better off for both the sport and for the players Another thing that you're forgetting is, while you have tour players, who don't regularly compete because they are too lazy to travel a few miles or else have other commitments, then that too will only the lack of prize money because of the lower turnouts. Untill there is 1 overall governing body for American Pool in the UK, then there will not be any change in this whatsoever and I don't classify the EPBF as a governing body for American Pool in the UK, simply because, they haven't yet had a Euro Tour event in the UK and untill they do, I do not acknowledge the EPBF as a governing body for the UK. The reason for no euro-tour at present in the uk is because the table standards are not good enough, that is the only reason, a few years ago a euro-tour was held at Mosconis in Hull.

i agree the problem is there wont be a merger cos all the organiser wont there own slice of pie but your point is bang on there is 5 snooker events not 25. the epbf did av a eurotour at hull six yr ago but not since! do we even av a suitable venue to hold proper events? but agree your point what does the epbf actually do for uk pool? and that isnt a dig its an honest question!

There is a nice venue in Manchester for the EuroTour...
Manchester235. A huge casino with 3 bars, 2 restaurants and a live music venue.
Lot's of gamblers.. ie Spectators for the games.
The setting is perfect. Smack bang in the centre of Manchester with plenty of hotel's closeby.

That sounds perfect Danny If the BPPPA Was able to get sponsorship of tables and from a chain of Casinos, that would be just golden, not only for the sport, but also for the players and also would be a good incentive to get some side action at a turnament also There is a very serious lack of road players in the UK, that's where the UK is lacking seriosly and if you don't know the definition of what I mean by a road player, then you have alot to catch up on Willie

I thought the EuroTour provided the tables for the venue... ?
If not, i'm sure the company sponsoring the UK Championships, would also sponsor the British EuroTour stop with some tables..
I think holding an event at the Casino in Manchester would publicise (is that a word?) the tour even more so aswell. As ChannelM would 99% provide full, live, television coverage.
