I know we are not exactly south, but me and Ben Moore have travelled up from Leicester, as has Tem Dixon.

Branching off Bens idea of region vs region themed events, I think there should be a Mosconi Cup style format MMTV event with 5 players from different counties. Yorkshire as the home county could be allowed 2 teams, and then any other counties who can scrape together 5 men for a team should be allowed to play. This way there's more players, more localised support for each region and hopefully more support.

Maybe the other idea is for Andy to take MMTV down south himself to a different club. Maybe then the guys down south will play? Rather than let someone use his idea and then fail when it not marketed right.

Or if the south guys set up games as home and away, then there isnt a reason for them not to come up and play?

Taking MMTV down south aint a problem for me or pete its the cost it would involve to the other clubs they would not pay for it, MMTV home is vegas sports bar, If players agree to play on MMTV then play a return elsewere thats up to them,I would franchise MMTV out if it was viable for sure

its not just up to andy and pete to maqke mmtv a sucess, its up to the players and fans as well, would hate to see it ever fold as am sure would every other 9 ball fan, so lets all pull together once a month and support it, its not rocket science, all these pool players who throw their points n opinions in but rarely go to event itself. i can think of around 20 local lads who rarely go to this event but im not gunna name them lol

Yeah totally agree Pete, can understand why the southerners dont travel?!? The cost implications are irrelevant when youve got a chance to win £1000+. A lot of southerners will pay a lot more than that to travel to gb9 to win absolutely nothing! Id personally travel anywhere if i thought the match was right.

People keep mentioning that the costs of travel and accommodation are irrelevant because you have a chance to win £1000+, but you also have a chance to lose £500+, as some1 is going to lose the match, so if you add this to travel and accommodation then your spending way over a GB9 weekend. Yes great if you win it doesn’t matter, but that’s IF you win.

I’d love to come up and play but 1) I haven’t got a single shred of faith in my ability at the moment and 2) I really don’t have the time to travel for 3.5-4 hours to play a match for cash at present.

Don’t get me wrong, the whole MMTV idea is a brilliant one and all credit to Andy and Pete for continuing to run great events.

Why not remove the 5 supporter rule and see if it has a significant adverse impact on takings?

If this approach encourages a more diverse group of people from different areas of the country to put their names in the frame this might actually bring more locals into the club to watch because it will be new interesting faces.

At the same time it might generate more income on the Pay-as-you-view from people watching at home.

Surely it's worth a try even if only for a few events?

For the first time ever on MMTV two champions come together ARFAN DAD V MATT LAWRENSON
this opens up another wildcard match which in turn should allow fresh faces on MMTV,
There are 3 wildcard games still available so get your names put forward all games will be matched up by monday, In future MMTV events there will be 3 champion stay on games and 3 wildcard matches,
After this next event we will be relaxing the 5 supporters rule for 2 events to see if this is the reason players wont travel, Hope more players from the south come to play on MMTV in the near future.
