i just booked my flight for the eurotour austrian open on 14-17 june, if anyone is interested i booked with ryan air for £37 return, from stanstead to Friedrichshafen(FDH) which is in germany but closer than zurich, the next closest airport which is 80 odd km, Friedrichshafen(FDH) is only 44km, so is anyone else going to use this route, if so let me know, we might have to get a taxi to rankweil, i dont know how much that will be, can hire a car for the 4 days for about £90. let me know guys

Yup, virtually everyone will be using that route mate......easy train from there for about 3 pence!.....only one flight a day so you can hook up with everyone else. -----------------

Am I reading it right where it says that if you want to actually take a bag for your 4 night stay you need to pay an extra £10?
Who wouldn't want to take a bag?

i think you get 15kilos but if you put luggage in the hole, yes you pay extra, this is why im not sure about my cue, oh and the bag cant be too big, about 50cms by whatever by 20cms, so only one pair of undies or wear 3 pairs on the flight....lol

Even worse if you pay for extra bags that doesn't include extra weight so £20 entitles you to 2 x 7.5 Kilos instead of 1 x 15 kilos for £10. Regarding cues, yes you will need to pay for these if you want them in the hold separately but I believe they only treat them as a normal bag as they are not as awkward as Ski's, golf clubs etc. The trick is to get a decent sized lightweight canvas bag big enough to put your cue inside. Alternatively club together with some mates and put all your cues in one of these for just £10 for the lot then put your clothes in your hand luggage for free. Yeah agree with Riggers. I usually do one of two things with Ryanair: 1, put my cue case in my hockey type bag with my clothes etc (hockey bag weighs nothing on its own so can easy do under 15kg) 2, Cue goes through in cue bag along with toiletries and clothes etc go in cabin with me in a small case. I know its me being tight again  ....but i just think Ryanair take the michael with this! Hope this helps anyway. -----------------

Best thing I ever bought recently was a handy luggage weighing thingy. Just hook it to the handle lift and weigh at home after packing. No more sweating with worry in the queue at check in  On the trip to Austria mine weighed 18kg but that was without any hand luggage and I took plenty of clothes, my heavy Whittan cue case instead of the usual lightweight one, Shirley's cues and several spare shafts! So I'll have no problem getting under the 15Kg limit with one bag and will probably still not need any hand luggage. Those hockey-type bags are perfect as Dazzler says.

Err.... They are big enough to hold a cue in a case! What do you think? If that sounds really sarcastic I apologise and accept you maybe haven't done much flying. cheers riggers, i have flown some 200 times but not on ryanair, i did fly airasia which are similar to ryanair, regulation are that cabin luggage must not be more than 50cms long and must fit into a box usualy used by airlines to see if the bag should be sent to the hold or can be carried, This is because the overhead luggage comparments are not equiped for large bags, i have had a case when flying to bangkok where i was sent back to check in my cue as they didnt allow it in the cabin because it was more than 50cms and it wouldnt fit in my bag and as i can only take one piece of hand luggage i had to Q up all over again, this was at gatwick. I DO WARN EVeRYONE, IF THE BAG IS TO BIG THEY WILL PUT IT IN TH HOLD, AND I WOULD THINK CHARGE YOU.If you dont pay, ryanar will charge you extra on your return or not let you fly
So, i ask again, has anyone used hockey bags on ryanair b4 as hand luggage?

Come on Man! If you've flown that many times you would know that hand luggage size requirements are the same for pretty much all airlines and no airline, Ryan Air included will allow cabin bags that are big enough to hold a pool cue! Besides that cues are not allowed in the cabin because they can be used as a weapon.

sorry mate wrong, i can carry my cue from bangkok to here but not from here to bkk, some airports allow you to carry lghters, some dont, anyway, a walking stick can be used as a weapon, and they are longer than a cue case, but you can carry them, all i wanted to know was has anyone used a hockey bag b4 on ryanair....lol
back to the weapons bit, etihad airlines use steel knives and forks for cutterly...hmmmm
another airline i used reciently, royal jordanian use plastic, to be honest, i dont know if im coming or going sometimes....so have you used a hockey bag for hand luggage b4 on ryanair :p

I'm sorry but Hotel Number 2, 3 and 4 are fully booked. I have a single room
available in Hotel 1 Hotel Roessle.
Then I have only Double rooms as single use available in 6 and 7.

Don't worry, from all the hotels their is a very good shuttle service
organised to the venue.

good one mate, i get a hockey bag or it defeats the whole object of cheap flights if you have to pay extra for baggage. excuse my ignorance, which shuttle service and who to contact and where? Oh Dazza, so mate i didnt congratulate you on your last win in germany, i was keeping an eye on it from bangkok, well done mate, nice one
