whats wrong with this site?
my good friend Nick Hampton used to run the site and shop, its now run by Big dave Knight, im sure you can get a good deal either from him or Simon Divali
all depends on how much you wanna spend really and what your looking for...
gd luck with that. Ossie

The Pro Shop is a new venture and has only been open a short while - give us a while and we'll have a whole load of stuff available - incidentally we have the cue you mentioned in your PM to me, I'll ask Andy to calculate a price for it!

I've bought 4 queues from US / Canada and 2 shafts, never any problems. Rem you will pay import duty, though I've been told (mmm) that the best way of avoiding such duties is to have the item marked warranty replacement. You can reduce the insurance value, but this creates a risk! Marking the item "Birthday Present" never works, again, so I've been told.

I bought a cue last month from china, which was allegedly posted last monday (the day the post offices opened again after the chinese new year celebrations). The cue hasn't arrvied yet but fingers crossed it will and it wont attract too much nasty import tax. I did buy my jump/break cue from china also and that arrived no problem in fine condition and without any import taxes

Of course that's ILLEGAL, so please don't do it, as both you AND the supplier could both get into trouble.
The Pro Shop pays all the import tax, shipping fees and customs duty on the wholesale price ONLY, so we don't get hit as hard as retail buyers - and we save on shipping by receiving large orders.
In the mean-time, have a look at Lucasi and McDermott cues, as they will be the next cues to be added to The Pro Shop's range.

I have bought numerous cues and equipment from U.S and you will have no problem at all with the big suppliers..the ones you have mentioned are good shops to go to if pro shop here hasnt got what you need (yet!), not only that if you buy from the same shop over and build a good relationship with the suppliers you can get extra discounts like i have with in the past with Rick at Seyberts and Shane at platinumbilliards, the delivery is real quick too, only 3 working days to get things from U.S if your lucky but thats how long it has been for me the last 3 times i used overseas suplliers, and that is lot quicker than some shops in Uk who can range from 4-10 working days(but you do get fleeced with customs if buying from abroad) you may wanna check out fleabay too.

Once you consider all the Import tax, clearance fees etc. you will find most of the good UK suppliers are very similar on price.

I'd pretty much agree with that. Even with the weak dollar at the minute i doubt it would work out that much cheaper after the import fees. It used to be a lot different when i first started buying cues. [ This message was edited by: craig on 2007-03-08 17:56 ]

BTW if you don't find what you want on here, I'm sure there's going to be more stuff soon, just email the sites in the US asking for the best prices and play them off each other, There's no need to pay the price on the website even tho it's already 20% off. I got $800 off one cue and a few extra thown in. Being the good old U S of A they like to deal. [ This message was edited by: jc on 2007-03-08 18:19 ]

'I got $800 off a cue' What is this? Is it the cue you are using in the APN playoffs JC? Are you risking a 4 figure cue in the hope of glory? In relation to buying cues, Ebay has some offers, but I think the PRO 9 shop is the place to go. The more we shop there, the more they will be able to offer everyone. I no longer live in bonny scotland so don't know wot's going on there. If you are ordering from US add about 20% to "insurance valuation". You not only pay vat but costs to UPS etc. You'll get the stuff within 3 days of ordering, pay about $40 for del... PM if you want more info. I don't to step on pro9 toes. If you're looking for something that's on here then just order from them. Works out the same.
