Hi all just checking on the article on home page it shows THE FINAL Carl Morris 11 : 9 Karl Boyes but on cecking the pdf it shows Boyzi won can anyone clarify this one please, Congrats to whoever won though......is this the first all 8ball final? -----------------

LOL... Pro9'ers never miss a trick do they... I'll admit I hastily loaded an unconfirmed Last 32 .pdf - I must've changed it within 30 minutes... If you download it now, you'll get the correct version. Well spotted PC... There's no prize though.  As Sparkey says, Carl won! Not Karl! Without doubt, the 2 best players on the day and well deserved! Well done Carl for the win mate! and well done Boyzi on a great weakends play! All in all another well organized event...ran smoothly and most of tables were in good condition (back room) I had a lengthy discusion with Ted regarding the "tapped" rack......for 9ball i think the rack should possibly be a ball higher to stop the really soft break...a cut break is ok if you have to put a bit into it but this silly tap is no good......many players mentioned it and Ted said he would be looking into it for the next event in Manchester. He also mentioned that he is already looking into solutions for the calender so hopefully things for the calender are on the up! -----------------

Just looking at the prize fund and money breakdown and I see that total prize money was £3195. I thought that all prize monies were paid out as stated on all BPPPA flyers? There were 75 entries (66 men, 2 women, 6 juniors and 1 wheelchair).
66 X £45 = £2970
1 X £45 = £45
6 X £25 = £150
2 X £25 = £50
Total Prize money should be £3215*
*And this is assuming that all 75 entries had paid their £165 membership and got reduced entry which I think is an absolute million to have happened. So wheres the rest of the prize money gone?
Also looking at the breakdown, it looks like unless you are local and dont have any expenses you will have to reach the semi's just to make any sort of profit! I really do feel sorry now for the southerners. I didnt play in the event so I dont know if Ted made any announcements or anything regarding prize money and the calender so please feel free to correct me if im wrong.

With regards to the rack, why not implement the rule of having to get so many balls past the middle pocket for a legal break? This might help things. RT

Wow - a whole £20 out from your calculation (which I'm sure will be explained forthwith). Perhaps the BPPPA hierarchy fancied a Caribbean Holiday with some of the entry fees and so tried to embessle this massive amount! Quickly, arrest those men (and women). For Pete's sake. RT

Just wanted to say this was my first tournament and i was pleasantly suprised by the whole weekend, everybody friendly(except 1 no names) well run, played on time and decent tables(as dazzler said backroom good some in front room not so good)all in all good weekend and carl deserved his win i watched him beat Imran and he played really well.and lets hope that some really good news on the calender is coming shortly.

Well done congratulations Carl on your win mate and finding energy from somewhere seeming as you had to do an exhibition on the Saturday night, not getting much sleep, playing your 33-48 bracket match an hour early before the Last 32 started and then going on to win the tournament beating some great players. Unlucky Boyzi, Well played over the weekend & getting to the final. Yes the tournament ran smoothly and all of the first days action was finished before 8PM in the evening. Sunday ran smooth too. Also a few drama incidents thought the tournament. The back room was in good condition. The front room was unfortunate that a post got in the way on odd shots and some cushions wernt in good tact. Its good to see some old faces back playing such as Ben Moore who I thought played really well and looked more focus and determined than ever and only went out to Ricardo Jones 9-8 in the last 16. Also great to see picking up there cues again was Mark Mills & Chris Wright. If I have missed out anyone else you are included too. Great to see some new faces at the weekend well done to those who did well seeming as it was there first event or so. Well done to the junior players as they put up a great fight and performance in the event. Which is a big plus for the UK's future. Thank you Ted & the team for a great weekends pool which was well runned. A big thank you to the Rileys Nottingham team for making us feel welcome and a good service. ----------------- Trust Me! Thanks everyone for your posts, and for all your texts. I have to say I was astounded, but for me in confirms something; that 9 ball players are a lot more thoughtful, and far more likely to take a moment out to text me to say well done than 8 ball players. I never had so many 'well done's' before, even after 12 years as an 8 ball professional, and I really appreciate it. I set my alarm to wake at 8am today, but when I did wake I was so shattered that I just fell back asleep, only to wake at 12! It may have been my best weekend for a long time, and it was also tiring, but it was worth staying up till 4am doing the exhibition and getting up at 6.30 to drive back up to Notts because we raised over £2,500 for the NDCS and, of course, the win  That's 3 exhibitions out of the way, 27 to go. Well done Carl a well deserved BPPPA title as uve been extremely consistent in this tour lately,and you certainly had a tough draw to win this comp in beating Colclough
9-8,Imran 9-6,myself! 9-8 and Boyzi 11-9.Just to add the tournament was very well run and the attendance was also good despite all the negatives that were on Pro 9,also sounds like theres a lot to look forward to on the BPPPA Tour for the coming season.

Cheers lads, and especially Mark - it takes a good sportsman to say what you've said there and I appreciate it.
It was a nice feeling to beat the BPPPA's number one ranked player. I was chuffed and it gave me the belief to win as last time I played you, you stuffed me!
