I am looking to get a new break cue and was just wandering what everybody's views were on the best break cue for cueball control and power was, i currently own a Sledgehammer 1 which although has a bit of power it is hard to control the cueball consistantly, i tried a BK2 but didnt think much of it and then i saw the a X-breaker a new break cue on the internet (www.xtremebilliard.com) i was just wandering if anybody has heard or broke with an X-breaker and what they thought?

Your comments would be appreciated

For just breaking i dont think you can beat the first predator BK or another cue with a 314 shaft and either a moori quick, moori power or my personal preference a waterbuffalo tip (see the diamond)

I think the first Pred BK is a great cue, but my Jerico Stinger is a better break cue. MUCH more solid hit and seems to spread the balls real easy, plus it is a great looking cue as well. Once i've shifted a few cues i'm going to try a Mezz PB2, i've only heard good things about them.

I use a X-Breaker & it's the best break cue I've used, & I've tried Predator BK & BK 2 which I couldn't get on with, my previous break cue was a Fury JB, then I change to the X-Breaker for a trail run and never gone back to the Fury so I have sold the Fury now.

possibly the best way to improve your break is not just the cue but to practice........and for that have a look at Charley Bonds website www.breakrak.com i have one and would highly reccommend one!!!!! as i think would anyone else who has one. If you have seen joe tuckers racking secrets he uses one on there.

I had a Fury JB, didn't really like it to much but it was a bit on the light side for me, so i guess that might be it. Have you got a mark 1 or 2 X-Breaker??? I'd be pretty intrested in trying one.

I've got a plain old Viking butt with a sledgehammer shaft.

I've also got a regular shaft for it with a Moori Power on it, which I've started to use more. Simply because I reckon one day, all tours will follow in the footsteps of the IPT and ban phenolic tips.

I dunno, I just think no matter what cue you use to break with. In 9 Ball, if you practise the break often enough, you can perfect it with any cue to a certain extent.

A phenolic tip will only help with power, and power is certainly not the key to a good break.

just my opinion.

Thanks for everybodys views.

I think i am going to stick with my order of an x-breaker as it would be qute hard to try and get a original BK as they have been discontinued i think.
PC The Breakrak thing looks good but i would get laughed out of local rileys bringing that in!

Sledgehammer 2 cues have been discontinued. The manufacturing of this cue is no longer taking place.

RACKRUNNER21, get yoursel a cuetec vortex.
It has a 10 layer pig skin tip and can also be used as a jump cue.
I bought one earlier this year and it is really nice. Not as dear as a sledge (prob half the price!)

I'll PM you the link to a very reputable seller in the states.
