I had a Meucci 'Gambler 2' w/ 2 extra shafts, but I sold it recently and I'm going to order the Hi Pro 1 from APN, hopefuly Next Week.

I know that the cue I'm buying is an updates version of an OL1 (Oldie Series), which is a pretty darn good cue and I do intend to order and extra shatft for it also

I was recommended to Meucci by a few players, including the legendary 'King' James Rempe.

Anyways, for anyone buying a cue sticks, try out a meucci first because they really are good cues and value for money

This is going off at an angle here but what's the difference between a Meucci and a predator? I recently got a Predator but I find it a bit stiff to play with. Top spin and deep screw seem to be harder to do than with the cheap cue i used before. I'm thinking it might be my playing style. I just thought it would instantly improve my game but instead I feel like I'm learning again, as I'm missing shots I didn't before. Anyone got any tips?

The stiffer the shaft, the less control or manoevering of the snowball that you can do, I have found that same problem when I tried a predator and I hate that, I'm a juicy kinda guy and when I wanne squeeze some spin magic from the white stuff, then you gotta have a shaft with a good bit of flex to it and Meucci's are perfect for that

I play alot of tricksots as well ans the smoke that I can put on the rock with a Meucci, is finger licking good

The only thing I can suggest is, Get a Meucci and put a Moori on it

Wise words wizard! I like a bit of of spin 'n' win style pool myself. There's nothing like a fantastic spin shot to get you out of trouble. I shall be looking out for the black dot whilst out on the mean streets

If you order a Meucci now, they all come w/ a Black Dot bullseye shaft, I'm going to order my new Meucci tomorrow and I'm licking my chops

There is nothing as tasty as amasse shot out of an near impossible hook, only to use the cueball's sterring whell and go the scenic rout to make the ball in the hole

I have a 97-12 and the reason i got it was that i was reccomended it and told that Meucci were good cues.

After i had played a few shots with it (it came with the black dot shaft...) i thought to myself what on earth! this is horrible.

Let me explain...

I wasn't impressed by the general feel and quality of the shaft to say the least. It felt really skinny and the grain of the wood doesn't seem right to me.

Every time i had to play a power draw shot over a long distance the whole cue just felt weak and flimsy and the ferrule would make a strange kind of clicky sound. This really annoyed me that much that i complained to the dealer and they replaced the shaft as after closer inspection that rediculously long ferrule had a hairline crack in it which we thought may have been the problem. It took a while before i had another black dot shaft delivered but when i did get it to my amazement it still felt weak and flimsy and exactly the same as the last shaft, clicking sound included. I also tried out a red dot shaft too, but still found this just as bad although not quite as bad as the black dot.

Subsequently i looked at the options and decieded to get a 314 shaft on it. When i tried this out i knew straight away with the 1st shot that this cue now means business. Everything about it had changed, Great new feel and balance to the cue and even delivers a nice soft hit so you can actually feel the shots better. I couldn't believe the difference it made....awesome. I now use a z-shaft instead of the 314 and in doing so made it even better.

I would highly reccomend people try out a 314 or z-shaft on their meucci's and see the difference for themselves. After all how many of the top players use a blackdot shaft or even a red dot shaft ? Not very many i don't think ?

And as for all the stuff about whip with meucci shafts, so what yes they are whippy but you can still put just as much funk on the cue ball with any other shaft as long as it has a decent tip on it.

Just my opinion i know, but would be interesting to see if anyone else agrees?
